I am racking my brain trying to figure out where to stay during our 1st Disney vacation, coming up in April. It's 4 of us - myself, my husband and our 2 kids (4 and 6). i was looking into offsite condos that are 15-25 mins from park gates, but now I'm wondering if it's better to stay on Disney property? We are most likely going to rent a car. I would like to find something under $100 a night, close or on Disney property, and something that is either a 1 or 2 bedroom suite or condo. Is this possible?

Thanks!

why not stay on property and then u will not need a car at all??

did u look into the resorts on property?

visit www.homeaway.com

Get yourself a nice condo or full sized home for less than an All Star resort. Head to the transportation board of this website. Post your dates, and the folks there will give you codes to enter to get a rental car for cheap.

Homeaway has some bargains, and you can still negotiate down from there. Most places have a cleaning fee, so be warned on that. Many folks on this board for some reason love to sita nd wait on a Diz Bus and feel some Diz magic from the resorts. I am a super Diz vet and have done it every way. I'd much rather rent a place like this one for $650 for the week... Description
Villa, 2091 sq. ft.,
4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8,
2 Bathrooms

Amenities
rural, village, pool, garden, air-conditioning, internet access, less than 10 min from DIZ

I may be wrong, but I don't think you will find any onsite resort with a separate bedroom for under $100/night.

You could always go with a DTD hotel - like Doubletree Suites. That gets good reviews and you could get a mousesavers discount. The mousesavers website has lots of recommended hotels and discounts, so check that out.

Onsite is very convenient though, especially on your first trip, if you can all stay in one room.

Can anyone recommend a place from homeaway.com? Is it a reputable site...I'm just leery of booking throguht them as I have always dealt one on one with the owner but the place we rented last time is already booked. I'm looking at WH, WP,Rolling Fields or EI!

Look into renting DVC points. Depending on your dates and such, you could get a 1BR villa, and wouldn't need to rent a car.

Just check the rental car rates. Depending on when you are going that could make or break staying off property! Rates have been crazy lately!
