Hello!
Looking to HOPEFULLY cruise out of Miami on the Dream next summer! Our family is planning to fly in the day before the cruise. I was wondering if it’s more convenient to stay closer to MIA (airport) and commute to the port OR stay closer to the port? TIA.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn right by port. It is directly across the street from a really fun outdoor shopping plaza/restaurants. We were a 3 min cab ride to port! I think they may have had a shuttle, but we travel with a wheelchair so was easier to grab a cab. It was clean, breakfast included. Nothing super special 5*, but a good clean place to crash before port! Comfy beds too!

Staying close to the port makes it easier. I recommend «The Epic Hotel ». We had an amazing Biscayne Bay view and it was close to Whole Foods and CVS.

Before we cancelled our August 2021 cruise, we had booked Marriott Biscayne Bay which is also very good apparently. They are both located about 10 minutes from the port so the cab ride was unexpensive.

Wow! I didn't know the Dream was sailing out of Miami next summer, we will have to do a drive by.
There are a lot of hotels around the area, you can check Tripadvisor and look at pics and reviews. I will not book a room without going there first ti check it out.

We did the Holiday in Biscayne Bay a couple of times as well. One time we had a port view which was awesome. The only downside was the elevator was glacially slow, was commented on in the reviews lol. Area felt safe and a CVS was just down the block to buy some sodas and snacks for the room. Wasn't the cheapest place, but it worked out well for us.

Four years ago I stayed at the Blue Lagoon Hampton Inn near the airport. Free shuttle from airport and free breakfast. Grocery store and pharmacies across the street. They arranged a shuttle to the port for just $10, very convenient and nice staff.

We stayed in a very densely Marriott hotel area, and liked it a lot. There was a cruise port shuttle included.

We absolutely loved the Hilton on Biscayne Blvd. We had a corner room with floor to ceiling windows on two of the walls. We loved waking up and being able to look out our window and see the Magic waiting on us! They have a shuttle that will take you to the port, but at the time the City of Miami wasn't allowing shuttles to pick up people from the port so we had to get a taxi after the cruise to the hotel so we could pick up our car. I am not sure if that is still how the City of Miami handles those situations or not.
