So we are definately staying at CSR - now the hard part - what section.

We have a standard view room and would prefer not to look at the parking lot (prefer gardens - but of course would take an upgrade to waterview if given).

We will have a car so distance to El Centro or the Dig Site Pool is not make or break to enjoying the entire resort.

So what should it be:

Casitas building 3 - Plusses close to El Centro; Pretty landscaping & architecture; minusses - far from Dig Site & bus stops; may be full of Convetion attenders (less Disney Fun)

Ranchos building 7A or 7B Plusses close to Dig Site and Bus Stops; architecture is attractive; Minusses - far from El Centro, Landscaping is a bit desolate, No one seems to want to stay here.

Cabanas building 8A or 9B Plusses close to Dig Site, Bus Stop & El Centro; beachy landscaping; Minusses - too similar to CBR

As you can see I have reasons to stay in each section (and reasons not to). I need your input to guide me.

TIA!

Kim

We requested Ranchos due to the unique theme and distance from el centro. (We are in our early 20's and wanted romantic.) The casistas to us looked like condos...they were filled with the conventioners during our trip. Not that they weren't nice people, but they were contained in El Centro and the Casistas. The cabanas, which was our original choice, was not what we thought when we arrived. We had already received our request for Ranchos and were upgraded to water view for my birthday, but we passed Cabanas everyday walking to El Centro. They look like run down huts, not the beachy-theme many describe them as.
If close proximity to El centro or dig site is not important to you, I say go for Ranchos! It's so pretty and unique. Quiet, romantic and relaxing.
We loved CSR but will only stay in the Ranchos. Good luck!
:)

I loved the Casitas section! I didn't think I would, and I didn't request it, but I ended up really loving it. We were in Casitas 2, which was a very convient location to El Centro and The Dig Site. We had a standard view that looked onto a beautiful lion fountain in the courtyard--it was so nice! We did stay at the Ranchos for one day when we extended our trip. It was different, but it was a haul to El Centro, but you mentioned that you have a car so that may not be a big deal to you. I will attach a link to my CSR review which has much more info on these two resort locations and the resort in general. Please check it out if you have time!

we really like the cabanas section -- the walk to the main building was just beautiful, and it's close to the pool. :D

We stayed in Cabana 8A and loved it's close proximity to the main pool. This building also sits sideways, so you are spared any direct parking lot views.

There is also a bus stop right outside.

We stayed in Cabanas, but walked around the whole place several times. It's not THAT big! I loved the Ranchos section ! I thought I would hate it. My least favorite was Cabanas. Maybe because we live in FL, the "tropical theme" escapes me sometimes. We were at the quiet pool in Cabanas and I said to my DH, "This pool really has no theme". He said, "It's a beach theme". I said, "Oh yeah", looking around at the palm trees. It looks just like the pool at our condo here at home.
