Where to stay in August

We just got into the DVC system as we purchased a resale at OKW last week. We have been trying to book a vacation for around the last week of July or the first week of August, but Hilton Head is fully booked. Any other suggestions for places we might enjoy? We live in New York and are willing to drive up to 8 hours. We have 2 girls ages 5 and 8.

There are some nice B&Bs in Vermont available thru the concierge collection? Actually you might even try B&B hopping.

Have you tried any of the WDW resorts? Some people have said lately they have had great luck getting last minute reservations. If not at one of the DVC resorts, you could always use the points at one of the Disney hotels. I would think with the specials they have been running, you could surely get into one of the hotels. Or are the points expiring in the next 60 days and therefore you can't use them at one of the resorts? Good luck getting the vacation you want and happy planning!
