Where to stay for one night (vegetarian, kids, no parks)?

We will be staying one night at a WDW resort prior to a cruise and could use some help identifying the right place for us. Our biggest constraints are that we're vegetarian and we have two small children. Looking for a resort that will have a tasty dinner option for the night we get in and something easy for the morning we leave. Bonus points for some place that will be fun for the kids to stay. Thanks for any advice!

Are you looking for quick service or table service for that "tasty dinner" and "something easy in the morning"?

And how young are the "two small children?"

Animal Kingdom Lodge's Jambo House building has Boma (buffet), Jiko (table service, dinner only) and The Mara (quick service).

Kidani Village has Sanaa (table service).

I think you should check the menus to see if you like the vegetarian options.

At Boma, dinner for adults is $49. Dinner for children ages 3-9 is $29. Breakfast is $29 and $17.
That includes tax but not tips. I'm looking at AllEars.net, you can check MDE for official info.
Some families like Disney buffets but others don't; it's pricey if members of your family won't eat the food.

Thank you for the suggestions! I don't think we were firm on wanting either table service or quick service specifically. Definitely nothing fancy since no one wants to get dressed up after a long flight (and with small kids that's just asking for trouble). The menus at the AKL restaurants look good! As far as buffets, I think they tend to work really well for us for breakfast, sometimes less so for dinner.

I was also going to suggest AKL. We did a resort-only stay there (Jambo) and we were blowned away with the vegetarian options at Boma. My kids also loved the resorts, activities, pools and of course the animals.

I’d consider a resort with Disney Springs boat access as well as that would open up tons of restaurants (POR, POFQ, OKW, SSR)

I agree AKL would be awesome but if you want to save some money look at POR or POFQ. They have nice pools for the kids and you can take the boat to Disney Springs, which has tons of dining options. We stayed there before our last Disney Cruise.

Thank you for all the suggestions! We decided to go with AKL since we really won't be there long enough to do pool time or even really venture out much. I'm hoping it'll give us just a little taste of Disney magic before we set sail. So excited!
