Hi...

I'm headed to WDW in December. We haven't been there in years, so we are very excited!

I'm wondering if anyone has experience on the best place to wait for the rope drop when you are already attending the morning EMH at MK. I want to get a little bit of a head start on the other guests in going over to Frontierland and Splash Mountain. Where can we wait that will get us the closest?

Thanks!

Chas

There will be a rope at the bridge heading into Adventureland from Main Street as well as one that heads into Liberty Square from Main Street (and on EMH there is a rope in Fantasyland just before the Haunted Mansion.) All of these locations will have CM's that will walk the guests to Frontierland where they will be passed off from the respective land CM's to Frontierland CM's who will then walk the guests the rest of the way to the attractions (this way everyone walks, no running, trampling, etc.) All of these rope drop areas, in general, meet together at some point along the journey, so you are 50/50 at any of them.

Hi...

Thanks for the info. I've been to Disneyland several times, and it seems to me that they don't walk the guests to the attraction. My experience has been that they just let the rope drop.

Do they always do this, or does it depend on the crowds and time of year?

Chas

At WDW (Magic Kingdom anyway) they ALWAYS do this. They have had to many people hurt in the "race to be first". So it is an escorted walk... At least to Splash and Thunder anyway. Not sure how Tomorrowland/Fantasyland CM's do their rope drop, but 4 years of working as a CM in Adventuerland/Liberty Square (before moving to Main Street) we always provided the escort.
