I posted this on the DL board too, but someone suggested to post here too. Ok all- I just went to the neatest yard sale that was HUGE and full of old antique type things.

I found the coolest old hat box, and of course it caught my eye because it said Disney! The top is bent in, but I didn't really mind. I have tried googling it and tried looking on ebay to compare values but can't find anything. It's not that I am looking to sell it or anything. I was just interested in its history and possible value.

Where can I research vintage DL stuff? I know that it has something to do w/ DL because there is an old label sticker on the top of the box w/ a handwritten note that it was for Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

Any thoughts????

Not sure if it is a Walt Disney item. The few boards I have found on it say it is not affiliated with the Disney Company but a different company that was called Disney. That alone is interesting... I would love to know more on that and on the item...

It is kind of interesting.... someone on the DL board gave me a link to some info that also made mention that the Disney Hat Company had nothing to do with Walt (obviously since he was born in 1901 and the company was founded in 1885), but I just wonder if there is some kind of family connection.

I also find it interesting, that if indeed there was NOT a direct connection, that the label on the top of the box specifically mentions Disneyland...

Hmmm??? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Based on what little I know, I would offer that the "Disney" hat box was sent to the park as a sample for consideration to be sold at the park.
