Where to pack chargers? Carry-on or suitcase?

Hi All,

Could anyone advise me the safest place to pack the chargers I'm taking with me holiday? I've got 4 chargers to pack - camcorder, phone, ipod and pocket pc.

I'm going to put the camcorder, phone etc. in my carry-on luggage, but I wasn't sure about the chargers and cables.

Would I be OK putting them in my carry-on luggage, or would it be best putting them in my suitcase?

Thanks.

We took 7 with us for various things and they all went in the hold. None of the cases were opened up in either direction. Don't think it matters really unless you are afraid of your baggage going astray, but you could say that for half of your luggage contents and end up with enough hand luggage to make you feel like a mule.

I put charges and misc. accessories in my cases, but have the cameras and camcorder in my carry on bag :)

I would say pack them in your suitcase - I take similar things and have never had any problems.

I always put chargers in my hand luggage. Suitcases can go astray, hand luggage doesn't.

another vote for hand luggage....anything that i really MUST have with me on the other side, i put in my hand luggage.

Right - so that's 3 votes for hand luggage, and 3 votes for suitcase so far! :confused3 :teeth: - any more votes? :)

Checked baggage. I won't need them until I get there and therefore don't need to carry them.

If they go missing, then the baggage is insured so I would simply replace and keep the receipts for the claim

They go in the suitcases in the hold. I have enough to carry as it is and the airlines seem to be getting picky about weight of carry on luggage now.

As has been said - you can replace them if it absolutely came to it but if yr luggage went astray you would be a bit too busy for a while to use the camera anyway!

I always put things that i dont need straight away into the suitcase. I dont see the point in carrying things you are not going to need! As long as you have your travel insurance in the unlikely event of your baggage going missing you can replace and keep the receipts for a claim.
