Sorry for the post, I figured this is out there somewhere but I can't get the search function to work:(
At any rate here is my question.
Where are Palo reservations normally being taken on the 4 night wonder cruises? I have heard that they are taken at palo's themselves but sometimes at wavebands (right name?)
Are they really as hard to get as they sound? I'm going on my honeymoon and would love to have a romantic dinner.
Thanks!

I'd like to know too, except for the 7 day Eastern Carribean.

Also, when do they start taking ressies? I understand you have to do it quickly after embarkation, or else they fill up.

We sailed on the 7-day Eastern last year.

As soon as you get on board, they herd you into the dining room for a buffet. After we sat down and got some food, I hightailed it outta there and went up to Palo's. Within 30 minutes, I had ressies for brunch, dinner, and had time to go by our cabin and drop off my bag! I went back and enjoyed the buffet with my family, all ressies in place!

I don't know of any other way to make ressies other than going directly to Palo's, and yes, it should be done ASAP to better your chances of getting the times you want.

How do you know which night you want to go to Palo's?

I seem to remember that you don't get your dining rotation until you get to your stateroom, and there are tickets there indicating your dining schedule. So how do you figure out which night to go?

For example, I'd like to switch a Parrot Cay night with Palo. How do I do that?

For a definite answer on when/where for Palo reservations, you'll need to check your Navigator that you receive upon check-in at the terminal. I believe that the reservations are made at Palo on the Magic and at Wavebands on the Wonder - but once again double-check your Navigator for sure.

Your dining rotation will be coded on your KTTW cards that you also receive upon check-in. Look for a code like "LAPLAPL" (for the Magic) or "TAPT" (for the Wonder) which will tell you which restaurant you go to which night (L=Lumiere's, A=Animator's Palate, P = Parrot Cay, T=Triton's). That way you can decipher your dining rotation before boarding and figure out which night you want to go to Palo. I had figured out which night we would want to go to Palo for each of the 3 possible dining rotations on the Magic and then just selected the night that went with our assigned rotation.

Don't miss Palo - the food we had there (1 dinner, 2 brunches, and tea) was absolutely outstanding and the service was just as good!!

Deb - You actually get your dining rotation when you check in at port, not when you get to your stateroom. On each 'Key To The World' card, a set of initials appears - for example PLAPLAP, or LAPLAPL. These initials indicate your rotation.

P= Parrot Cay
L= Lumiere's (This would be a 'T' on the Wonder, for Triton's)
A= Animator's Palate

If you get "PLAPLAP", you start at Parrot Cay, then Lumiere's, etc.

So, in this example, if you wanted to go to Palo's on a Parrot Cay night, you would go either Saturday, Tuesday or Friday.

Git it? ;)

We were on the Wonder earlier this month and Reservations were taken at Wavebands at 1:30, according to the Navigator. We didnt want to go to the embarkation buffet so we went right to our room. We settled in a little and got to Wavebands right at 1:00. We were the first ones in line(yes, I was obsessing over this!). They started letting us in at 1:15. The person at the desk in front asked what night we wanted(Friday). He gave us a ticket and sent us to the person in the middle at the bar(this was the Friday line). We walked right up and they booked it for us. It was very easy, and we were able to get the day and time we wanted. So, dont worry, its not hard at all if you know what to do. Our tablemates tried booking for Saturday night on Saturday and couldnt get it.
Good Luck, Happy Honeymoon, and dont miss the Chocolate Souffle!!!! YUM!

I'll echo CamColt (we were on the 4-day Wonder cruise that returned on July 4). I was all freaked out because we didn't actually board until 1:30 AND the ship was booked solid AND we didn't get our rotation until we got in our rooms. I sprinted to Wavebands at about 1:40 and discovered that I was only the 4th person to have shown up! Had no problem with our first choice (4th night.... a repeat of Animators). When you do pick your time, make sure that you leave plenty of time between your ressie time and that night's show (if you're planning on going). You want to leave LOTS of time to linger over your Souffle (oh, yea.... and to gaze into each other's eyes).
