Hi

We are hoping to host a welcome dinner for our guests.

I have read somewhere :confused3 about people having dinner and then walking down to the beach to see the fireworks - does anyone know where this is ?

I would also like information about the summerhouse at the grand floridian, I have done a search on here but havn't seen many photos - do any of you guys have any?

Thanks

LINZ :)

I think you are thinking of O'Hana's. We had our's at Fulton's and it was wonderful!

WE ARE GOING TO CHEF MICKEYS, a little bit of the charachters and one price for the buffet

we are doing O'hana for 32people- it is at the poly so you could watch fireworks from the beach there.

'Ohanas is our favorite place to eat at WDW. It is a pay one price (although is you add drinks it could get pricey) served family style. This would be great for your Welcome Dinner because you will not have people jumping up and down to get their food - it is all brought to the table in big platters.

You can walk down to the beach to catch Wishes (fireworks at MK) after your dinner.

I have seen trip reports on the Summerhouse but not sure where they are now. I am sure someone will chime in here and help you out.

What about 1900PF?
You can still watch the fireworks from GF marina and it's a character buffet.
I wouldn't recommend GF Cafe because of a really bad experience we had recently.
On a more expensive restaurant Narcoossees is wonderful also, albeit expensive.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Cape May Cafe. (beach club)
It's a clam bake buffett.
It was great.
They put us in a room with 2 long tables side by side and 2 round tables.
The 2 long tables were ours so we sorta have our own dining room.
With 30 people you'll probably get the whole room by yourself... :)

have fun picking a restaurant!

Im doing mine at Ohana we have about 45 people. I would ask your WP if they can coordinate something. I just asked mine and she set it all up for me.

My FMIL even ordered special invites that had palm trees on them for each of our guest with RSVP's in them so we would get an accurate number for the reservation (for each guest that doesnt show for groups of 20 or more they charge you $10pp)

All of your ideas are wonderful - will need to delve further into this and check out some reviews.

I like the idea of being able to walk to the beach or onto the marina to see the fireworks afterwards.

Another thought that I had was to host the dinner at our villa.

The villas are huge and would accomodate everyone for dinner, the kids could play in the pool and the 'older kids' i.e. men :rotfl2: could play in the games room.

I noticed that places like macaroni grill etc can do catering for as little as $13.99 a head - that seems very reasonable to me, that would mean we could stock up at walmart on things like alcohol, soda, chips and fairy lights to string around the pool area.

What do you think
