Where to go to flee Ivan - that is pet friendly????

Hey there -

We live in Port St. Lucie, Florida and we are sick of the hurricanes. Ivan is coming and we are talking about skipping town until it is gone. Our only problem is we have two small dogs and we can't leave them here with anyone (because everyone is running) and we don't want to board them here where the storm will be passing.

Is there any place in with the DVC that is pet friendly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No Disney resort allows pets, but maybe you could put your fur babies in the Disney Kennel

We had 3 dogs and a cat in the kennel. There was a total of 221 pets of all kinds at one time in the MK Kennel last weekend until the resorts changed policy and became pet friendly during the Hurricane(after signing a waiver) There were a number of evacuees with pets there. They guaranteed room if you had your own Kennels but they got overwelmed and someone at Disney made the decision to institute the pet friendly policy at some of the Resorts. The Ft Wilderness Kennel was closed due to being low lying.

All of the Loew's hotels all pets. There a 3 in Orlando at Universal. 1 at St. Petes (its the big pink one)

there is 1 in Miami or Ft. lauderdale. I think there is 1 in Atlanta

It looks like Ivan is missing us in South Florida so - I think we might be ok to stay home and wait for our power to come back on. It's been 8 days... and counting!
