We have an ADR for our first night at BOMA. After checking the menu I am a little worried that my 6 year old might not like it. I would hate to burst her bubble on the first night. Would you recommend changing our ADR or sticking with it?

Our other ADRs right now are:
Cinderella's Royal Table - dinner
50's Prime Time Cafe - dinner
Garden Grill - dinner
Crystal Palace - breakfast
Shutters - dinner (picked b/c we are staying there and I figured we would all be tired.)

Thanks!

As an adult I am an EXTREMELY picky eater and I love Boma! But I know you were asking for your 6 year old. They do have a children's selections. Have you seen what was available?

We have found that Ohana's is a great place for our first night. When we were there in December my kids could either eat from what was served family style or they could get something from a children's menu and it was included on the DDP. My DS6 had chicken fingers because he is a very picky eater! Have a great trip!!!

I would suggest starting the first night off with Chef Mickey's. It is a fun way to get into the Magic!

We enjoy Boma with picky eaters, but Ohana is always a special first night place for us.:thumbsup2

The only thing my kids liked about Boma is that it's located in the AKL. It was a really cool resort to explore. But the food, uh uh, no way:scared: . They didn't eat a thing. We won't go there again.

However, they LOVED Chef Mickey's. Great atmosphere, perfect food for the lil tikes, and tons of fun. I think it is the perfect "first night" meal. My children have delcared it our first night tradition and won't hear of going anywhere else. I happen to agree with them. :goodvibes

ITA! We had ressies for Chef Mickey's our first night, and it was just the best way to kick off our trip! Riding the monorail to the Contemporary, seeing that HUGE mural in the lobby, eating "picky-friendly" food (and all they wanted of it!), and meeting all the classic characters!

We did the Princess Breakfast at Akershus the next morning. It was so nice to have 10 characters in their autograph books after less than 24 hours at WDW! We spent lots less time waiting in lines and chasing down characters the rest of the week because of that.

Boma has a children's section on the buffet with the typical kids selections. They also have a very nice selection of fruit and some wonderful desserts. I think most people can find something they like there. However, like everywhere else, its hard to say what anyone will like for sure! I think its a great place, with a good combo of unique foods mixed with some safe and typical American fare. Its also quite fun to be at the AKL, if you are going while its still light, try to get there early so you can go out and enjoy the savanahh viewing spot.

I do agree with others about O'Hana and Chef Mickey's. Those are great fun too and we enjoy the food at both. But I do think you have a very nice mix of fun, character meal places and given that you will see Cinderella at CRT, pooh characters at Crystal Palace and Mickey and friends at Garden Grill, plus the fun of Prime Time, I would say your kids will have plenty of kid oriented places to enjoy. My picky daughter loves Boma because she loves fruit, chicken nuggets and mac and cheese and they have that so she is fine while my son, husband and I get some more adventurous food! While I love Chef Mickey's if you do decide to change, I think O'Hana would be great. You have a few character meals, and O'Hana will gladly bring your dd a hot dog or nuggets while the rest of you enjoy the grilled meats and Polynesian side dishes. And they have fun games for the kids to enjoy either by watching or participating.

And I have to add, we had a wonderful meal at Shutters last December. Like you, we were staying at CBR and it was nice to eat there one night when we were so tired. And the food was really, really good.

I also recommend Chef Mickey! We are going there right before MVMCP this November. It is so much fun and really gets you into the spirit!

My problem is going to be making my son realize that we can't eat there every night!

We always eat at Chef Mickey's for our first night! It helps us get into the WDW "vibe" and we automatically feel back at "home".

another one that starts our 1st night dinner with chef Mickeys!!!
going for the 3rd time this August!!
