Where to go on baby's first trip?

My DS's first trip was at 6 months. It has many of my favorite Disney memories! Every Minnie Mouse we came across absolutely loved him! One in the MK tried to carry him off with her. He adored the characters and wanted to play with their noses. Our best meal was at Cape May breakfast buffet, which is a much more laid-back choice than some other character meals. He was entertained by watching the characters while we ate our meal, no small feat for an active 6 mo old baby!

Thank you all for your advice. @kboo the above, we usually book around 5pm anyways so I was happy to read your advice. We are *planning* to use a carrier so I understand that makes travel/dining/overall experiences a little easier. However I also understand that what I plan (baby wearing, dining, anything in between) and what actually happen are two very different things. We realize we might not be able to sit and have a leisurely meal as we previously knew it, and are prepared for having to switch off eating/comforting.

A good sense of humor helps a lot. When my babies were that age, I wore nursing tanks and nursing tops, and got myself comfortable with nursing in public. Sit down restaurants were actually great for that, because you can often get a decent amount of privacy depending on where you sit (and where you face). DH and I would often say to each other, "We are not alone..." at times when we were feeling stressed. Almost every time, at every meal (and also out at the parks), we would see other parents struggling with the same issue (or something even harder), and it definitely made us feel like we weren't total failures as parents. The 5pm dinner hour is full of kids. It's fun, and sometimes you can pick up tips from other parents!
