Last New Years we were at the Dolphin. We just ate at one of the restaurants there (I am so sorry I can't remember the name..possibly Gulliver's) we had a nice buffet. The adults liked it and so did the kids. We ate and then sat out on the "beach " and had a perfect view of the fireworks in EPCOT later we walked over to the Boardwalk and strolled around, played some "carnival games" and saw the sights and DS and I got dessert at the bakery. We then walked over to Beaches and Cream at the Y and B club so the kids could have ice cream and then we took the boat back to the hotel. It was a nice walk , not too far. Since your children are young it would be Ok as long as they are in strollers. It was nice and CALM...no crowds......the view was beautiful...the boardwalk was fun. The christmas lights are still up and the boardwalk looked beautiful. I would recommend it if you want a low key evening. I am pretty sure if you have dinner resservations you can park your car and leave it as we did on many occasions while we were there. We just had to tell security that we had dinner ressies at he hotel and that we were going to walk around later we never had ay trouble. The fireworks at EPCOT were a lot earlier than MK. We were back to the hotel for the MK fireworks which we could see from our hotel room.
