My DS turns 11 on our "surprise" Disney trip, so I can't really ask him where he wants to go. If I even bring up, "where is your favorite place," he will know we are going... so can't do that! :rotfl2:

Does anyone have any good ideas on where we should go? We can go to any park/resort.

Thanks!
Addie

Without info re: what your son is like, when my son was 11, I would have gone to T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe.

If you want to stay in park I would recommend a CS like Pizza Planet or Cosmic Rays. Most kids like the excitement at that age.

What about the Cali Grille at the CR, and time your ADR with Wishes, and a b-day cake!

All great ideas. I think he would love T-rex, does anyone know if they are on the dining plan?

We are surprising our DD with HDDR on her 12th birthday. We went she was six, and she still talks about it. I know she'll be thrilled!

In previous years TRex wasnt on the DP, until this year!! your in luck. :)

TRex is a fun place for a bday. I had the same situation with my son. Planned a surprise trip for his 11th bday. Couldnt ask him where to go. But i was sneaky and found out he would love a fancy signature restaurant. so i booked Cali Grill. OMG he loved it!!!!!! I agree with the PP that suggested you time it with wishes. TRex would be my 2nd choice. Only you know your son best. You can ask your son his thoughts on behalf of a friend. Tell him "my friend so-and-so is going to disney for her kids bday and wants to know what restaurant is best". That sort of thing. You can pull it off! ;)

My DS will be turning 12 when we go and he wants to eat at California Grill for his birthday dinner. He also wants to go to Beaches and Cream for a Kitchen Sink earlier in the day :scared1:

What about Ohana'? The food is delicious, and you can see Wishes from Magic Kingdom. :thumbsup2

We also surprised DD for her 11th birthday. We ate at 'Ohana and she loved it!! We didn't quite time it to Wishes, but that would have been so fun!

We also have a birthday boy during our next trip. Can you get a birthday cake at HDDR?

I was gonna say Ohana but for breakfast. When DS was 11 and we went he loved the Ohana Breakfast. Whispring Canyon DS has always liked too.
