I have a weird question. I am an experienced scrapbooker BUT there is something I have never figured out how to do. I see a lot of LO that have pictures that are like 2x2 or 3x3. Where do you get your pictures this size? I use snapfish but cannot get pictures this size. And my printer is not an option as I don't have a color printer. TIA!!!!

Imagine your standard 4 x 6 photo space...

Now cut that space into 4 equal pieces... those are 2 x 3's

Cut it in half...you get 3 x 4's

Cut it in 6 ... 2 x 2s

In my image program, I create a new 4 x 6 space
Open the photos I want to use. Resize them, and then cut and paste them into the 4 x 6 space.

Save that file as a jpeg, upload them to my favorite photo developer and have them printed. As far as the printer is concerned, they are 4 x 6s Then when I get them home, I cut them with my paper trimmer.

Same theory works for 5 x 7s and 8 x 10s.

Hope are you going to be around tomorrow?? I'm going to try this so I'll probably need your expertise!!!

What program do you use?? DH has about every thing on here...

I use Paint Shop Pro X. I will be around a little tomorrow, but not all day. I have to find a bra for special occasion dresses, and then I have to find the dresses for the cruise.

The trick is to make sure that the resolution of the new image and the photos is the same. When you resize, one of the fields usually shows the resolution. Most of my photos seem to be 180 pixels/inch.

If you have a printer that can do photos nicely, you can also get the 8x10 photo paper and then make a document with a whole bunch of smaller pics on it and then print it yourself. You can do it with the 4x6 too, but a better value with the 8x10, if you have enough photos to not waste any of the paper. You can do this with any basic graphics program.

Not all the Kodak Kiosk do that, but some do the 2x2 and 3x3. Just check around til you find one. Here there is one Kroger, but none of the Wal-marts or the other two Krogers have it, yet.

Heck, our Kroger doesn't even do photos any more!

I'll check Wal-mart this weekend..and I wonder if CVS has it??

I've not ever checked Walgreens or CVS or any of those type places. I am not a good photo shopper person.

Walmart does wallet size (2x3??) but it usually prints 2 pics, I'm not sure if you have to get 2 pics or not. I use wallet a lot in my Circle Journals but I need 2 pics so I can do a page for my own CJ album as well so I never bothered to ask if you could just get 1.

I use Shutterfly to print most of my pictures. They have an option to add a border to my 4 x 6 pictures. When I want small pictures, I print them with a large border. I then just crop off the white. Works like a charm! :)

I think Walgreens might to wallet size. You can order the prints online then pick them up at the store. If I want a smaller size I just use my Kodak printer dock because it does the smaller sizes quite nicely.

I use PhotoShop and resize the photo, and then fill in the rest with a background color like a photo mat, so I can print it anywhere as a standard 4x6 and then I just trim off the color to make it whatever size I made the photo. Does that make sense?
