Where to get refurb Ipod Touch?

DD23 wants an Ipod Touch 32gb. She doesn't care if its a refurb, or if its a 3rd or 4th generation. I can get a refurb 3rd gen from the Apple store for about 170-180, or a 4th gen preowned from Cowboom for about 160. Which is the better option, or am I missing a better deal?

The main reason I do versus somewhere else that sells refurbs is that Apple gives you a full 1 year warranty just like on a new one!

I have purchased 3 this way and they look brand new!

I got my iPad at cowboom because it was really cheap on a special, and so far it has been flawless....but if given the choice, I am sure the Apple Store is a far better place to deal.

Instead of paying $169 for refurb on the Apple site, why don't you buy a brand new one for $175 at Amazon.com? I did that and bought the Square Trade Warranty.

$175 is the 8GB from Amazon - OP's looking for a 32GB.

Apple store, definately! Their 1 year warranty on refurbs is great! A nano or something I wouldn't be so worried about, but a touch can have some issues. Dd got hers new and has gone through 3 of them (all replaced by apple). Granted, she isn't the most careful user... Dh just got a refurb Ipad for his bday and never would have known it was a refurb if I hadn't told him. We've gotten a few refurb ipods in the past with no problems there, either.

Keep in mind that the 3rd gen doesn't have the camera like the 4th gen. So if that is a feature she wants, you are better off going with the newer one.
