Not exactly sure where to post this. After reading about other posters that have gotten pins before they went to WDW to trade, I have decided to give it a try. However, I don't have any clue as to where to go to get the packages of pins on the computer. Can someone give me the sites to go to? :confused3 I want to get the good ones that the CMs will trade. I understand that some of the pins are not "real" Disney and those I don't want to get stuck with. Thanks for any help that you all can give!!! pixiedust:

I just got back from disney world about 2 weeks ago. My wife and I got into the pin trading thing and had a great time although we spent more money than we should, lol. The pins that you can only get from the cast members have a little "hidden mickey" head on the pins. You can tell the real from the fake ones by making sure "cast lanyard series" is stamped on the back. When I got home I found out that I got a fake lanyard series pin, so just make sure it has "cast lanyard series" on the back of the pin. Also if you plan to do a lot of trading which is the fun part, buy a pack of the small pins to trade. You get 7 little pins which cost must less than buying a bunch of single 6.95 pins to trade.

I bought a few sets from Disneyshopping, they were sets of 5 for $24.95 (of course i had discount codes too). I am just starting this too and I was afraid of getting "bad" ones also. Figured I could trust disney! Good luck!

If you buy a pin from a Disney Pin store, it's official. There are lots of starter lanyards with pins designed for trading available at the parks themed to parks, princesses, and characters(Fab Five), among others. Any CM with a yellow lanyard must trade with any guest. Green lanyard means they will only trade with kids. And you can't trade a pin that the CM already has.

mousepinsonline has a grab bag that was $30.00 for 15 pins I think. the kids loved getting and trading them!

A few years ago, I got a ton of pins for dirt cheap... like 50 or 75 cents from a bargain bin of a Disney store.

Interesting story... on my recent trip, one cast member did agree to trade with me off a kids' only lanyard. The fact that I wasn't trying to get a "valuable" pin and that I am female and friendly helped, I'm sure. She told me the reason she was wearing a green lanyard was that she was required to wear a lanyard, and when she wore a yellow one, men who were "serious traders" would come up to her and grab it right off her chest to get a better look. I can understand that making her uncomfortable!

It's crazy that someone would be so pushy. I enjoy pin collecting, but I've decided that I probably won't do much trading as I'll just focus on trip specific pins and favorite character pins. Nonetheless, it's nice to know that if I find my interest in films or some characters change, that I can trade it and get one that I like.

I am getting so bummed over trying to get pins for this trip. DH or I will be wearing the lanyard but it is for our 3 year old as he loves pins and we are putting them away for him later on. So we have been trying to get a pin lot off of ebay to take with us so there will be some to trade for ones he would like. However every dang time I bid I get outbid either right away or in the last couple mins. I know I can't expect to get him some dirt cheap but I also can't spend tons of money on them when we are putting away for the trip and hopefully a swing set for him. So it is driving me crazy trying over and over to get them. Anyone else have this problem??

I don't really want to buy from an online place b/c of hearing bad things abuot them. At least on ebay I can look at them and make sure they are not fakes.

Anyways, sorry to vent, just been so frustrated with trying to get some for our trip and feeling like I am going to just keep getting outbid each and every time. Anyone with advice, I would sure appreciate it. :goodvibes

I know that I can get them on E-Bay but I thought that there was someplace that I could get a "grab bag" type with alot of pins. Or is that the pins that are NOT Disney. I thought that I read it here somewhere but my search was not sucessful. Thanks everyone for helping. pixiedust:

DH has banned me from Ebay because he feels that I have spent too much on pins for our trip next year! I do have 35 each for DH, DS and DD.

I got them all from Ebay. I looked for the Disney Store Pins that were still in the packages, like Millennium Pins and 12 Months of Magic. That way I know they are genuine Disney Pins. I would always bid on lots so you got more for your shipping.

I would bid around $2.57 each pin and I usually got them, sometimes I would include the shipping and sometimes I didn't. It depends on how bad you need them.

Good Luck!

I've found ebay to be a great place to get pins, but you have to be careful as it can get addictive. I've found some good prices on some "limited" pins such as a 50th Disneyland pin with Mickey and I have a CM lanyard pin of Aurora with the hidden Mickey on it coming. Now, finding cheaper ones could be trickier. I'm not so much into pin trading as I am collecting. It doesn't mean I won't trade, but some of my pins are entirely off limits unless there's just a really great pin that means more to me than the ones I have. And the ones I have almost all hold some sort of sentimental value to me. That's why I bought them in the first place.
