Where to get "guest of honor" badge?

I'm looking for those badges that look like CM badges, only they come in colors (I think red and blue are two choices) and either already have names on them, or you can get your name engraved. I used to have one and lost it. I know that two places they used to sell them were at DTD, in an open shop outside, and MGM, about 1/2 way up the main street on the right. Is there anywhere else, either in one of the other 3 parks (particularly MK) where you've seen them sold?

Yes you can get them at MK. They are in a shop that is next to the candy shop. It does shirt embroidery and a bunch of other embroidery includes engraving the guest of honor badges.

I made the mistake of wearing one of those badges once upon a time in the Magic Kingdom (about seven years ago I think). The problem was that kids kept running up to me asking me all sorts of questions.

Like, "Where's Splash Mountain?" "What time does the parade start?" and "Where's the nearest restroom?"

I finally took the badge off.

But to be honest, I had the same problem one day while I was standing in front the Marriott Marque Hotel on Times Square (a great spot to do some people watching). Folks kept asking me for directions.

Like, "Where's MOMA?" "Where's the Winter Garden?" and "Is Macy's down this way?"

Not sure why that happens to me. Perhaps I look like a tour guide. LOL

Can you choose which character you want on the badge, or do they only have a handful? I'd love to get one with Tigger during my 08 trip, if it's available.

We purchased ours at hte Christmas Store in DTD. It was in the embroidery shop. They was a variety but I don't remember if they had all the characters.


I had a couple of people ask me questions when I was wearing mine as well. Thank God for the Dis!!

We got ours 5 yrs ago on our DD's first trip. They wore them in Dec. '05 and many people asked me where we got them. (in DTD) We looked for the Kiosk and it is not there anymore. We heard maybe some people were mis-using them. (?true?)

We want to get one for my DH in 24 days. Will look in MK. Thanks for the tip!!

White. The original Badges were red, and also had the city and state you were from. Later they changed to Blue with Characters on them, like Pooh, Tigger, etc. I have a Blue Pooh one, and everyone STILL asks me where the Bathrooms are, what time is the parade, etc. I just answer thier questions and direct them to the bathrooms!

I once was mistaken for a CM for being behind a fastpass machine, not for a badge. At least I was still able to answer her Stitch question. The real CM was kind of annoyed. Maybe she thought I was trying to make her look bad. Who knows?

I kind of like the fact that it helps me "spread the magic" and is a great conversation starter! I would think though that people would be able to figure out that the chubby gal wearing shorts and a tank top, a fanny pack and hat and pushing a stroller accompanied by 2 kids also wearing GOH badges, probably doesn't work there!
