Sorry for such a nitpicky question, but is Tonga Toast also available at Captain Cook's, or only at Kona Cafe? wdwinfo.com lists only cereal, fruit, and oatmeal on Captain Cook's breakfast menu, but Deb's site also lists some hot items (but is an older menu). Thanks for your help!

Once they refurbished the CS (Captain Cooks) in the Polynesian (end of 2006 beginning of 2007), they started offering it there too. It was only at Kona before that (they still have it at Kona too)

So you can pop over to Captain Cooks and get it without having a long sit down!! Oh ... it is to die for ... DH said it was TOO SWEET for him  (those words don't exist in my language! ).

We had it at Captain Cook's last year, although I am not sure it is exactly the same as what they serve at Kona. People rave about the Tonga Toast at Kona and we were not that impressed with what we had at Captain Cook's. It was just a bit too sweet for our liking, but maybe that is how it is supposed to be.

It is really really sweet. Normally my DH is the real SWEET fanatic & he said it was TOO SWEET for him.

But not for me! I loved it. :thumbsup2

(It would be better to share it but since DH doesn't like it, guess I have to eat all the Tonga Toast myself!) :)

They always give you syrup with it. My advice is: DON'T USE IT. The TT is extremely sweet on its own. Suggestion: Get breakfast for every person in your group except one, and have that person get the TT. Share every breakfast equally among every group member. Divide the TT into as equal proportions as possible, and share it with everyone. Kind of like a sweet treat with your breakfast. Keeps you going for a while. I had a whole serving of it last August, and I almost developed a few sweet teeth! Made me feel sicker that five servings of the BP a la mode with BFS at 'Ohana would! Go for a whole serving if you're feeling adventurous.

I'm not sure this is the same thing that is served at Kona and Captains.......but

Tonga Toast - Baked cinnamon French toast with warm maple syrup topped with fresh strawberries, bananas and walnuts. Also available without nuts. $8.99

is available at Animal Kingdom's Rainforest Cafe for breakfast (note, the DTD Rainforest Cafe does NOT serve breakfast).

Boatwrights at POR also has a breakfast item that sounds exactly like Tonga Toast but they call it something else, like stuffed french toast. I highly recommend it! YUM!

if you're staying at the poly, you can order it from room service too at least you could in 05

There is a rumor here on the boards that you can get it at Ohana also. You have to ask for it.
