My camera has been well used. I'm pretty hard on things and my Rebel has been freezing up sometimes and some of my pics are not focusing like they used to. I live in a pretty rural area and not sure how to find someone to look at or repair my camera? Any suggestions?

How about sending it to the Canon Service Center? The contact info should be on their website.

edit: If the camera isn't working properly, be sure to ask about the Canon Loyalty Program. In a nutshell, you trade in your broken camera, pay a fee, and get a new (refurb) camera. Only certain models apply though. Last year I was able to trade in an old dead Canon on a nice little Canon Elph for only $100. I'm not sure if this program applies to DSLR's though, but it's worth asking...it may be less expensive than repairing the old one.

i don't know what model of camera you have, canon never mentioned any loyalty program with my rebel xt that wasn't working right while still under warranty. the second one had a short, it would have cost $135 for them to just look at it, then maybe more to fix it which they would apply the $135 to but no firm estimate so it could cost lots more and you would be out the $135 if you don't have them fix it( basically they would refurb it)..they didn't mention loyal then either but then again, you might have to drag it out of them.

I would contact KEH they will look at stuff for only the cost of shipping. they have an auto quote on their repair page. Precision camera also fixes them, there are two, one has on their home page a link to the more widely used other one.

adorama also has a tradein, they will take broken stuff, claim to give you 70% of what they can sell it for and they also offer a yr warranty on at least some of their refurb. stuff.. some places offer 90 days or none at all. the refurb 40d i got from from so far is working great and the stuff was still in the factory wrappings ( ie battery etc)
