Where to find nice kitchen towels?

I have always bought my kitchen towels at Wal-mart. Well, we are building a new house and I want nice, new kitchen towels. I have looked at Belk's, JC Penney, Dillard's and such and they just don't carry kitchen towels. I have also looked at Bed, Bath and Beyond but they didn't have much. I have also looked on line but I don't know how to tell which ones are really nice--not the cheapies. Where do you all buy nice kitchen towels?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by nice kitchen towels. I guess I'd have to say Williams Sonoma, too. Nice? Maybe. Expensive? Probably :).

Crate and Barrell also has very nice ones...

I like to change my kitchen towels with the seasons and I always find nice ones (and happily at VERY good prices) at Home Goods.
Hope you have one in your area. I checked their website for their SC locations and they are in Myrtle Beach, Mt. Pleasant and Hilton Head Island.

Hope this helps.

I bought kitchen towels from Williams Sonoma. I don't care for them. :( I was so bummed. The dish towels holds way to much water and the drying towel doesn't really dry your dishes. Plus, it's impossible to get stains out of them. I heard ladies in the store saying how much she loved them. I thought great...I'll finally get some nice towels. I guess it's to each his own!;)

Good luck.....

Most recently, I've found kitchen towels I like at Kohl's, JCPenney and Crate and Barrel.

I like to have a mix of terry, flat weave, and some lighter flour sack type towels around. Sometimes you need the fluff and absorbency, sometimes you want the thin and lint free...

(But Crate and Barrel is a dangerous place for me... I get carried away with all the fun gadgets.)

I've always liked the Mickey ones at the housewares store in Downtown Disney. I think you should drive down there and check them out.:D

I've always had luck with the drying towels from Williams Sonoma. We have used them for several years now. They dry my dishes really well. And, even though we have well water which can stain things I find that the drying towels clean up really well. I noticed WendyZ has had a different experience, however. And I would have to agree with her feelings about the wash cloths. They don't seem to wring out well and I do notice that they tend to get dingy and stained rather quickly.

I bought a bunch about eight years ago from Crate and Barrel, and I haven't had to replace them yet!

TJ Maxx and Marshall's for me. I've even found nice seasonal ones at Target.

Thanks guys!! I have a whole new list of places to look. We have Kohl's, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Target here. I have never heard of Crate and Barrel. Went on their website and they don't have a store near here. I did notice that they have a store in Orlando (where we will be next Thursday) and they also have several in Atlanta--which is not too awfully far. And duh, I hadn't even thought to look at Downtown Disney while we are there. I love all things Mickey and will be checking that out before buying anything else.
I really appreciate all of your help. You can always count on folks from the Disboards even for little things like dishtowels.

The one thing that I splurge on for my kitchen (and the only thing that I buy there) is kitchen towels from Williams Sonoma. They are durable, attractive, and last forever!

If you watch, even the chefs on the Food Network use the same towels.
