We had planned on eating at Napa Rose, but since it will be closed for refurbishment during our visit, I am looking for what would be considered a similar dining experience. It is our first trip to DL and we are staying at GCV, we are DVC members.

And I am wondering what WOC dining is the best option. Money does matter, but it's not as important as the quality of the dining experience

Thanks.

Janis

We've always been happy with the food and service at Steakhouse 55 at DLH. Steaks are almost as good at Ruth's Chris.

I ate at Napa Rose, on a previous trip and it was okay.

WOC at the Italian restaurant is good, but when I did it, it was a set menu. I have done both regular menu and WOC menu there and it was nice. Lovely pasta, a little pricey in my opinion, but that's subjective to people.

DLH has a wonderful place, Trader Sams, that is awesome and magical and has good food. It's like a poly tropical bar complete with lightening and disney magic.

also the Steak house is good there too, and so is Brenans Jazz Kitchen or Naples Pizza in DTD.

All do these are easy to walk to, to and from the parks and GC.

Outside of the park, go down Katella and there is the Garden Rock with some restaurants, and same on harbour ave, steak houses etc.

For the WoC package, I'd recommend Carthay Circle. If dinner is out of your budget, maybe lunch will be a better option. We ate at Catal at DTD last month and really enjoyed it. I also really liked Café Orleans at Disneyland. I've had Blue Bayou many times in the past. It no longer appeals to me.

Carthay Circle. One of the Napa Rose chef's plans the menu. It's divine!

I agree, Carthay Circle Restaurant for WOC is the best option.

In general if you can't do Napa Rose (I got to eat there for the first time just a couple days before they closed this month) then consider Blue Bayou at DL.

I have never made it to Steakhouse 55 but that is considered high caliber like NR.

Loved Steakhouse 55. Ate there for the first time on Sunday and it was well worth it.

We just got back and thanks for all the great suggestions. We ate at the -

BTMBBQ - was just OK - wouldn't repeat.
Blue Bayou for lunch - loved it. Saw a proposal and following celebration. Very special.
Carthay Circle - was very good. We loved it. From the surroundings, to the service, to the food - perfect.
Steakhouse 55 - another beautiful restaurant with great food. Serving sizes of sides were huge and 3 of us were able to share one baked potato and the asparagus. Thankfully our server told us this when we were ordering.
Café Orleans for lunch. DH ordered the Monte Cristo and I ordered the chicken sandwich. We shared and both were excellent.

Thanks for all your advice.

Sounds like it went well. :thumbsup2
I've either eaten (and agree with you) or am planning on eating at these restaurants this trip so great feedback

On this, if we got the latest dinner sitting at Carthay Circle, would we be rushed?

Would the last sitting be a couple of hours before park closing or would there be a chance the park would be just closing as we finished our dinner?

Carthay Circle is always great. And since you're staying at GCH you can take the "hidden" exit from GCH to Downtown Disney into the front park entrance if you like...it's probably the same distance from the GCH entrance.

We love the Firecracker Duck Wings and Signature Fried Biscuits for appetizer. Then I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Pork Chop! My DH loves the steak salad.

Blue Bayou is great for the atmosphere but the food is about 7 of 10.

Have always had a nice meal at Steakhouse 55 but it's just standard steakhouse fare. Nothing very unique. My vegetarian DD loves the asparagus and my DH loves the bacon mac and cheese.

Sorry Napa Rose is closed  We love the Chef's Tasting Table there which you can't beat.

My favorite in the DCA park at Pacific Wharf Bakery Shrimp Louie. We get the salad on the side from the bread and save the whole loaf of bread for later and eat the salad.

Enjoy!
