Where to Eat while Solo

do you like to eat by yourself or with others?

if others the Japanese resturants will put you with groups. The counter service at Beaches and Cream is nice, so is the pub at GB.

If you are pretty comfortable dining alone, then pretty much everywhere is fine. I enjoy sit-down meals and book them either for lunch or dinner or both. I usually have a book with me, so that passes the time while I wait for my meal. I'm also pretty independent, so traveling and dining solo does not bother me. I love Le Cellier and the Rose & Crown in World Showcase, the Garden Grill in FW, Liberty Tree Tavern & the Crystal Palace at the MK, and Sci Fi & 50's Primetime at MGM. Oh, don't forget to dine at O'Hana's for dinner. The food is great!!! Below is where I'm planning on making PS for my upcoming trip for some suggestions.

Terk-1, that's a lot of food :D

Thanks for the ideas. I am leaving today & will be in Disney on Monday!!!

When solo, I like the Coral Reef at Epcot (watching the fish swim by), the Sci-Fi at MGM (watching the movie clips), and 'Ohana. Any place is fine--just go and enjoy. The CM's are very friendly--one even sat down and talked to me for a bit about WDW. I got tons of hugs from Eeyore at a character breakfast. The best part is you can dine wherever you want! ;)

I'm scheduled to be down there for 16 days, which is why the list looks long. Most are lunch or dinner, but have a breakfast scheduled for Kona's (gotta try those Tonga Toasts!!!!!). Some of these are still up in the air and alot of them I have never been to.

I go alone often. My worst experience was at Tony's this past week. I was ignored and sat with an empty glass for about 20 minutes.

However, the couple sitting across from me, same waiter, was treated well. I finished before them and didn't rec'v my check until they were already gone. The "boss" (can't spell the French word for it) also went to their table and cleared it before their check came. All he did was glance my way. I was never even offered desert.

I like buffets solo, but then I like buffets anyways. Both Bomas and Akerhaus were good, especially Bomas.

Well, I hope your tip at Tony's reflected your service. One of the nice things about solo dining is that they can sometimes fit you in!

I decided I wanted to eat in Japan one time on a solo trip. As I stood in line I heard the hostess tell several parties that they were fully booked and could not take walk ins. However, when I told her I was a party of one I was seated immediately. I wound up sitting with two very nice gentlemen who were up from Fort Lauderdale and had a wonderful time! I have also found that France has a bar area where you can sit and watch the staff work. I sat in front of the desert station so of course I had to have one after watching them make all these great deserts. (Once again no reservations!)
