Where to eat Thanksgiving Dinner?

This is our first trip this time of year.........I have ADR's at two places for Thanksgiving dinner and when I called today she said many resturaunts are open just not character dinners. That's okay with us we have those all booked. Right now I have ADR at Garden Grill for 2:30 (yes I know character, but we have it booked later in the trip too so it isn't a big deal to cancel) and the Luau at 5:15. I don't know if we should go to "just a resturaunt" or one of these things. It is just my self and my 4 little ones traveling........any one have any suggestions on Thanksgiving dinners? Maybe reviews of places you have eat?

Well if I remember correctly (it was years ago) CRT had a nice Thanksgiving dinner. I am not sure if they still offer it though. They had changed the menu from their normal one to include a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The CRT is a nice place to eat, although I liked it better when everything came out on those metallic dishes and had a more medievil feel to it.

We are eating at HDDR this year. DH didn't care whether we ate "traditional" or not, and HDDR fit perfectly into our schedule that day, so that is where we are going.

CRT is booked solid, but I keep checking daily and I thought about the HDDR but the only show they had left was the 9:00 and I don't think my kids would care for that (we are doing that later in the trip though). Traditional doesn't matter to me or to the kids (they are just happy to be in Disney and the baby doens't know the difference hee hee). I'm just at a loss with this one

Sorry, there is only one place to have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at Disney World and that is the Liberty Tree Traven. Call Disney and ask for the Bill of Fare for the Liberty Tree on Thanksgiving.

Three years ago we had Thanksgiving Dinner at the Hollywood Brown Derby. You had your choice of regular menu items plus they had the "traditional" Thanksgiving Dinner as an added option. It was also on the kids menu. My oldest DD was 7 at the time and she was the only one of us that ordered Thanksgiving Dinner. Hope this helps.

I guess what I'm looking for is something that will be special for us, not necessarily traditional. It has been a hard couple years for us as a "family" and this is a trip that I want to make so special for my little ones

We had the Crystal Palace buffet for Thanksgiving last year and it was wonderful. Characters plus the buffet with a large selection and special items for the kids. If we were to return at Thanksgiving in the future we would definatley go back.

Last year I had dinner at The Brown Derby and this year we have an ADR at the Luau. I think it will be fun to do something very different than a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Well, I can tell you where NOT to eat for Thanksgiving, if that helps. Avoid Prime Time Cafe at all costs. We at there T'giving '04 & it was heinous!!

We have celebrated Thanksgiving numerous times at WDW and enjoy the LTT meal the most. All you can eat traditional fare...my family loves it!

We are going for T'Giving and we have Boma booked! This will be our first trip in Nov! Hoped we picked a good one! We wanted some traditional offerings! Would love input from someone that has done Boma for T'Giving!

We did the Hollywood Brown Derby a few years ago for Thanksgiving, and it was very nice. This year, however, we are going to try Thanksgiving at the Fort, at Fort Wilderness. I understand that it is similar format to Mickey's Backyard BBQ, but with Thanksgiving food. There are characters, although they don't come to your table as at other restaurants, and there is music and line dancing. Might be fun for little ones that might get restless and want to run around a bit. Good luck choosing!

loved it.

We ate at 1900 Park Fare two years ago and it was horrible. The food wasn't bad, but we had to wait for TWO HOURS, even with a ADR. My husband wasn't a happy camper. He was worse than my kids during the wait.

I decided on Thanksgiving at the Fort. When I called to see if anything had opened up, the CM recommended this as did the concierge at AKL. I'm alittle hesitant because it is "one big round wood table" like and no reserve seating, but then my 10 year old told me "we will all be one big happy family!" I think the girls will like the dancing etc and we were able to get the 2:00 time slot which is about when we would normally eat.

I canceled my other ressies at the Luau and Garden Grill so I hope that helps someone out! Thanks everyone for the input........
