Where to eat in NYC?

Yeah, I would narrow down the area a little bit, or at least a range of Aves/Streets you're willing to travel to.

We will be near times square and also near ground zero. The rest of the day is unplanned as of yet. We are willing to travel anywhere in the city. My mom is a fan of all the food shows on TV and would probably love going to something she saw there. My dad doesn't really care what we do. They aare both early 60s if that matters.

Becco NYC is great and is co-owned by Lidia Bastian......something. (She owns our favorite but expensive Felidia) Becco is a great less expensive place right in the heart of the city(She is on PBS though-) If you are talking food network then any of Bobby Flays places are fine but Bar American is our favorite.

and there is a always Babbo (Mario Battali)mmmmmm.

I'd avoid eating anywhere right in Times Square, it's a big tourist trap. I'd venture a little North and East. There are some great resturants on the East side and still walkable (10 - 15 minute walk).

Some of my favorites are Tao, BLT Steak and Crave (unfortunately its no longer open). The thing about NYC is there are a million and one restraurants and even the best will get differing opinions on whether the food is good or the prices too high.

fresco by scotto was really good when we went a few years back.

Here are some suggestions, hope these help a bit
Virgil's BBQ, Carmine's, Mangia Y Bevi - Times Square

Harry's Steak House, Water Stone Grill ( I know lots more in this area since I work there, let me know if you need them) - Wall Street area

Balthazar - 80 Spring Street

I did a Google search for Food Network restaurants in NYC -
http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=food+network+restaurants+in+new+york&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

I think I'm going to check out the link myself to try new spots! So thanks :)

I don't think Mangia e Bevi will be their cup of tea unless they are looking to do shots, stand on their chairs waving around tamborines and have male busboys gyrate against them, lol.

LOL, yeah I guess so. I guess thats why we went there for a bachelorette party! Ok, everything else I mentioned is nice and G rated. :)

We have had the frozen hot chocolates from Serendipity, donuts from the Donut Plant, and cupcakes from Magnolia bakery. Is there anything else like that we should have?

Hahahaha...the mental image of that ....lmao:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

In-laws and another couple went there for dinner without mentioning to me they were planning on going there. They're in their 70's, don't drink, and are pretty conservative. Let's just say they were pretty surprised by the goings on during dinner. :rotfl:
