Where to Eat in MK and Sci-Fi or 50's

I'm having a horrible time making decesions!

I have to questions at the moment. One, I have an ADR for the Sci-Fi Drive In, should I keep it, or switch to the Prime Time 50's.... or Brown Derby maybe?

Question two is I'm having a hard time finding some place to eat at MK. I've eaten at CRT (and was unimpressed) and LTT (love it, but just adults this time, feel silly with a character meal..I know..I know...but totally do...) The few experiences I've had with CS at MK have been pretty miserable, way over crowded etc.

So...to the question, are there and TS places that I'm overlooking at MK that I should consider? Or are there any particularly impressive CS places to look at? Thanks for the help!

LTT is no longer going to be a character meal, so if you love the food there, try it again. Brown Derby is a two TS credit, so if you don't have the extra credit, stick with Sci-Fi.

1. Prime Time :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
2. Tony's :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'm actually not on DDP as I booked through expedia, so it's not really an issue. Will check those out! Thanks!

Also, as of when is LTT no longer character? I'll be there the second week of October. Thanks!

LTT no more characters will be as of 1/1/09 is what I heard.

Prime Time and Sci Fi are going to have a bit of kitch. Brown Derby will have better overall food.

A nice simple TS in MK that is good is the Plaza Restaurant. It's mainly sandwiches on the menu but they are good. There are various ice cream treats for dessert. It's about the worst TS value on the dining plan because of the focus on sandwiches so it is often easier to get an ADR.

I like the Plaza very much in MK!! Very good.

we love lunch at LTT in MK (turkey dinner!) and at MGM, either sci-fi or 50s - or both, why not! (although the cobb salad at BD is sooooo good!)

We just got back from WDW yesterday and ate at Sci Fi & 50's. Personally, the food wasn't wonderful at either, but of the 2, 50's was more fun and had better food. It was OK at Sci Fi, but far from great. If you choose 50's, my husband hated the meat loaf & green beans. I really enjoyed the fried chicken. Desserts are a MUST (definitely the highlight of the meal, aside from the show). We didn't eat at the Derby, but we did eat at Hollywood & Vine (I think the food was better here -- but if you're wanting to go somewhere with a theme, stick with 50's). Another plus for H&V is the Fantasmic dining experience -- there's a reserved area if you book a package at the restaurant in advance (not the best seat & you still have to arrive early for a better seat in the area -- but MUCH better than not being guaranteed a spot anywhere).

As for MK, we had the same dilemma when we were booking our meals, so we didn't make any reservations -- we ate at Tony's & it was OK (not spectacular, but decent). Of course, it helped that our trip was this month, so the crowds were WAY down. Hope this helps a little!

i'd go w/
1. 50's or splurge for Brown Derby. If we weren't going w/ kids next time we would be at Brown Derby, since bringing kids we will do 50's.
2. Charecters or not I'd go w/ Liberty Tree. Love their food. We have always done several charector meals w/ just adults. Matter of fact 2 weeks ago was first time we ever took the kids. Never felt out of place or awkward, you can even tell your server to have them skip your table or wave them on when they come over if you want no interaction. Crstyal Palace is ok, but have had horrendous food at both Plaza and Tony's. I think tony's espically could pack in all the charector's, have an exclusive celebrety meet and greet, charge $15 for full buffet w/ steak and an open bar, and I still will wouldn't go back. it was more than awful.

we went for lunch and the server was as exciting as a dead fish...very disappointed....there were other servers who were fun, but a few that were blah...the food is average at best....but I am sure that would have not mattered had our server been in character.....I would go to Brown Derby...you do not have to cross fingers to see which server will be yours AND the food, although not GREAT is MUCH better.

Wow. Some great advice. Thanks everyone!

Anyone know off the top of their head whether is 50's or sci-fi that has the pbj shake?

We thought that 50s Prime Time was one of the best meals we ate at WDW. We both loved the food and the atmosphere.

At MK we normally just eat CS. We like Cosmic Rays and are looking forward to Columbia Harbor House next time.
