Where to eat in Adventureland/Frontierland/Liberty Square area?

I am trying to get my family's touring plans down, and I just realized that the day we are touring Adventureland/Frontierland/Liberty Square, I made ADR for a restaurant in Fantasyland. FWIW, the the ADR is for lunch at BOG. I'm considering cancelling that ADR and planning on a QS in one of those other parts of MK instead, so as to minimize back and forth/distractions that will come from going into a land that we aren't touring that day (also, we will have done that part of MK and Tomorrowland a couple of days earlier, when we have an ADR at CRT).

So what do you think? Should I rearrange our touring plans? Is BOG a must-do (even for a family that is not all that interested in BATB)? We can't change CRT, but would it be feasible to tour A/F/L and do a meal at CRT? Am I making sense? lol

I'd really like to swap out BOG for the new jungle cruise restaurant, but there aren't any ADRs avail.

Thanks in advance!

Skipper Canteen is walk-up. If you cancel your ADR assuming you'll do QS, there's no harm done trying to walk-up at SC, and if the wait is too awful go to Pecos Bill's instead.

My opinion -- you are being too rigid about defining boundaries of where you will and won't go on certain days. MK is not all that big. It's a short walk from Liberty Square to Fantasyland. Would only take a few minutes. Eat where you want and don't worry about which land it's in.

Also, not sure there is a full day in Adventure/Frontier/LS. It's our favorite section of all of WDW, but still not very big. Splash, Thunder, Jungle, Pirates are the big 4 attractions in those areas. Those can all be done within an hour at rope drop. The rest of the area has tons of fun stuff, but won't have long waits.

Yes, I think you are going to be very surprised at how small the Magic Kingdom is. I couldn't imagine spending a whole day in A/F/L.

I would look at all the menus and see what appeals to me quick service wise. If BOG (which is probably one of the better QS in MK) does not appeal to you, then cancel. Pick a few places you might like to eat at for your backup to Skippers Canteen in case you can't get in. That way you have more options day of.

I'd stick with BOG. It's not that long of a walk between the two areas and you can even take a quick ride on the Railroad between the lands.

I'm going to echo what's been said stick with BOG. I've gone to Haunted Mansion to kill time before BOG both times I've had reservations. It's not a horrible walk if you plan properly and some of the best bathrooms are on the way over there (Tangled and Gaston's).

I'm intrigued!

Y'all are probably right, but you have no idea how distractable my family is.... (also we are NOT a rope drop family at all, and will be there Easter week, so I'm trying to create the most low-stress plan I can come up with, hence all the compartmentalization). However, looking at the map, it is pretty clear that BOG is quite close to everything else, so maybe it will work out ok in the end.

It took me less than 5 minutes to walk from Liberty Square to BOG in a wedding dress and heels so I wouldn't worry about it. Lol

BOG is not far from the areas you mention. Now saying that, food wise, I would consider changing to Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. I think the food is better, theming is colonial era. BOG theming is a must see, but that is the only draw for lunch for me, not the food

Cannot recommend strongly enough becoming a rope drop family for that week. You can do more in the first 2 hours after rope drop than you will be able to do in the next 8 hours after that.

if I had a nickle for everyone who has said that... I'd rather have a well-rested HAPPY family that doesn't get to do everything, though, than a grumpy exhausted family that gets to do more.

Would you say that the theming is a must see, even for kids who aren't familiar with the movie?

I too would stick with BOG. The food is good, best QS at MK in our opinion. The scenery is just bonus
If you are determined to drop it we love the new menu at Pecos Bill's. That would get my 2nd vote as the best QS at MK
Used to be Columbia Harbor House, which is another good option if you have fish fans

If you change, I'd recommend Columbia Harbour House. What everyone else says is right though, no biggie to walk to BOG. :earsboy:

I would recommend watching e movie before eating at BOG, the theming is incredible, but I'm not sure if you will appreciate without seeing it in animated form! That being said, Columbia Harbour house was my favorite lunch quick service we did during our trip during Christmas last year! The upstairs eating area was a nice quiet escape from the rest of the park!

Be Our Guest isn't that far from Liberty Square so I wouldn't worry about venturing over for lunch. If you did want something in Liberty Square though we love Columbia Harbour House.

Easter week at the QS spots will be a zoo. There will be a line to get in the line. It will not be magical to a distractible bunch. Not saying to avoid -- since you have to eat -- but you will wish you'd stuck with ADRs.

If you really do not care about BATB very much, unless the menu looks great to you, I agree with PP that suggested Liberty Tree instead.

I totally understand not being a morning person and not wanting to get up, my family is the same way. I would really suggest a few mornings to try and do rope drop. I have found that I absolutely can not do it every morning, but can manage a few times during the week. It really is worth it! I would be more grumpy with the crowds later in the day and kids whining about the long lines.

We will be breaking our No Rope Drop rule in the middle of the week so that I can get my kids signed up for the Jedi Training Academy, but I'm not even going to consider it for the day in question on this itinerary, as it will be our first day in the park + jet lag.

Thanks everyone! We will keep the BOG ADR.
