Where to eat in Adventureland/Frontierland/Liberty Square area?

We will be breaking our No Rope Drop rule in the middle of the week so that I can get my kids signed up for the Jedi Training Academy, but I'm not even going to consider it for the day in question on this itinerary, as it will be our first day in the park + jet lag.

Thanks everyone! We will keep the BOG ADR.

Oh, yeah! The first day may not be the day to make everyone get up early. I have only done BOG for breakfast, so I have no advice on whether it is worth keeping it for lunch. We have enjoyed Liberty Tree several times for lunch if you do decide to switch things around. Have a great trip!!!

if I had a nickle for everyone who has said that... I'd rather have a well-rested HAPPY family that doesn't get to do everything, though, than a grumpy exhausted family that gets to do more.

I'm with you! Vacations are for rest and relaxation and fun. If i have to get up at the crack of dawn, it isn't resting and it sure isn't fun. We sleep until 9, get a character breakfast for around 10:30, and don't usually make it to the parks until around 12:30. It's worked out for us every time, and we go often. Some people just prefer to do it that way, and there is nothing wrong with that.

I agree with the poster who suggested that whatever you decide, let it be an ADR. We've all experienced crowded vs not as crowded times at Disney, and Easter week is no joke. If you haven't been that week (or Christmas, 4th of July), it's quite an experience. I would not want to be trying to find counter service anywhere close to a meal time. Talk about a grouchy family! I also like another poster's idea of taking the train from behind Splash mountain over to the circus area of Fantasyland if you're in Frontierland around lunch time. We take the train often when we need to go across the park and it is really relaxing and fun. Best of luck and have a great trip!

If you get to the park at 12:30 and space mountain has a 180 minute wait, jungle cruise 80 minutes, splash mountain 75 minutes, etc like it is that week, that isn't resting, isn't relaxing, and it sure isn't fun.

Our first Disney experience was disneyLAND during xmas week a few years ago, and from what I've heard it is comparable. We did pretty well that week (and never even tried for rope drop :))

Thanks for the additional input, but this is not the question I've asked in this thread. Sorry to be cranky about it, but people seem to forget that different touring styles work for different people/families. So, again, if I had a nickel....

You don't own the thread. People can talk about what they want. Threads often move in directions that are not what the OP asked.
