We only get to visit Orlando every 10 years or so. We will be there in May 2022. What recommendations do you have for places to eat at WDW & Universal that already exits and are a MUST? To give you an idea of us, we are a couple in our 40's with no kids. We went to WDW last in 2011 and our faves on that trip were 50's Prime Time Café & Le Cellier. Any advise is preferred especially since we will be going to Universal for the first time ever! Thanks!

Way too early for what restaurants will be great in 2+ years
i would follow dining reviews and make some tentative lists and check back 7 or 8. Months before your trip

The only real "must" for us (of the places we've visited) is the California Grill brunch. Great service and food. I've had some fine meals at a number of other restaurants but nothing that really stood out. I'd avoid any Disney buffet--food is really hit or miss and very overpriced.

The 2 Disney restaurants you mention are favorites. We also enjoy:

Breakfasts - Boma, Crystal Palace, Tusker House, Cape May, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Trail’s End Buffet.
Lunches - Liberty Tree Tavern, Coral Reef, Tutto Italia, Rainforest Cafe AK, and Hollywood Brown Derby.
Dinners - Boma, Tony’s, Be Our Guest, and Chefs de France.

Our musts are:
Breakfast: Olivias at OKW and Boma at OKW. We also like Kona at Poly if we can fit it in. Rainforest Cafe at AK ( the park ) was convenient but standard.

Lunch - Columbia Harbor House at MK. (QS )

Dinner: Teppan Edo at Epcot, Grand Floridian Cafe at Grand Floridian and O'Hana's if we can get it.

It is a bit early- restaurants that are great now may not be (or may not exist) in two years, and vice versa. If you enjoy the shtick at 50’s you’d probably like Whispering Canyon Cafe and Hoop de Doo Revue. HDDR is a consistent good place- it’s a fantastic dinner show that’s been around for decades. If you’re at all into experiencing old, historical WDW things, this is a must.

As for Universal, Mythos gets consistent good reviews. The Chocolate Emporium is unique and quite good. Quick-service: best theming would be the Harry Potter places if you like Harry Potter; Monsters Cafe is quite neat as well, and I say that as a person who knows little about classic horror/monster films.

Columbia House
Whispering Canyon
O'Hana
Olivia's
House of Blues
Raglan Road

are a few of our favorites

If it’s in your budget I hear Victoria & Alberts is fantastic.

California Grill is always good. Been going there for 15 years and it never disappoints.

impossible to tell. Between now and then, there can be many chef changes. A great restaurant today, may not be good in 2 years, or a bad one today, may be great.
Plus the restaurants that are being renovated, closed or new ones opening.
Lots of Disney dining shows, I'd follow them and the boards to see whats good.

The standouts for me in my more recent trips:
California Grill
Homecomin’
Enzo’s Hideaway
Tokyo Dining

I wouldn’t hesitate to book any of those again.

Space 220 “should” be open by then..... they keep pushing back the open date :duck: That would be a fun and unique place to eat!
