I just finished reading about Sci-Fi and how many people felt the food was of poor quality. I was going to make a PS for our last dinner of our time there, and now will not.

So...I need advice...Friday, 12/10 will be the last night of our vacation, and I want to have a good meal. Our plans so far include:
12/3- (arrive)dinner at 1900 Park Fare

12/4-Chef Mickey's breakfast-late lunch/early dinner DTD

12/5-PSB in EPCOT, then CP package with dinner at the Coral Reef

12/6-Mama Melrose Fantasmic dinner pkg.

12/7-late lunch/early dinner at WCC (MVMCP)

12/8-CRT 9am, CP 5:20

12/9 (Animal Kingdom)-Ohana's 6:30pm

12/10 (want to go to MK, then MGM)- where to eat???

12/11-breakfast at 1900 Park Fare (go back to NY:( )

Thanks for your help-this is our first trip!!:) We're so excited and I know I've gone a little crazy with the character meals, but that's what I want to do! My 2 DDs (5 & 8) will be thrilled!:sunny:

I, for one, would not let the bad reviews deter you from Sci-Fi, because your boys will love the atmosphere, they're only young once, and children's menus are the same everywhere. Also, it's what others have said...You have to know what to order. If you order a hamburger (excellent), fries, or onion rings, you'll be okay. The desserts are cool, so you could just do that and skip dinner.

Also, I love the Rocket Fuel. (Okay, it's really just a Long Island Iced Tea, but drinking it with a gowing ice cube, in a car, at Disney World, is really cool.) Whenever I have a hard day, I say to my husband, "I need some Rocket Fuel!"

maybe crystal palace or liberty tree? ( could you switch your parks around that day and go mgm first?)

I love Bd but do not know that 2 young girls would feel the same way unless they love dress up( very "elegant)

conversly I hate scifi but do not know that 2 young girls would feel the same way..:teeth:

if the food is critical i'd go to cp or ltt, if the atmosphere is go to scifi like you intended and just order smart! by the last night we are so sick of eating we just want something simple anyway....! and remember it's 1 meal, not a life sentence:)

At MGM, I would suggest Hollywood & Vine. It's a very kid friendly buffet. Brown Derby is also great but more expensive and not as kid friendly IMO.

or

How about someplace in the Boardwalk area after MGM?

Thanks so much for all of your advice!! Maybe we will wing it-or make PS when we are down there.

How hard would it be to make priority seating sometime during the week for a Friday night?

I just made PS for the Pirate's Cruise for my girls the last day we are there(Sat. 12/11)-we don't fly out until 3:50pm, so that should be a fun thing for them to do (and my DH & I can have some time sipping coffee at the Grand Floridian).

Another question-would you recommend making PS at DTD resturants? I know you can't at some, but the Passporter lists a few (House of Blues, Hard Rock Cafe) that you can. We have one night where we're going to Cirque at 6pm....???

Thanks!:)

i would thinkit could be difficult in MK area since it's a mvvmcp and someone said locals go to them friday night and they normally sell out. other wise if you are not particular about time and place you can see what happens...although i always make ps just casue i don't want to chance it, you can do counter if all else fails!

Prime Time Cafe is a good choice. The kids will have fun, and the food is very good!

You made me feel so much better seeing all your PS, that is how I look with all the character meals we are hitting everyone. And if they do bkfast and dinner we will hit some 2x (like 1900 Park Fare and Crystal Palace). I thought for a minute there I was becoming obessed with PS, so thank you I now know that other disney fans do the same as I do. I also learned from my trip last Nov. that you do need PS to eat even in slow times. We had only made PS at CRT and that was it, thank goodness we were at the WL villas with a kitchen. Dinners in Nov we were told for ex. LTT that there would be an 1 1/2 hr wait without PS. With 2 DD"s that is not going to happen. SO I have said from no on I will make PS for bkfast and dinner and try to eat a small cheap lunch. Sorry so long I went on a rant.

disney w/kids-I had to start making PS arrangements on a weekend when we went to my in-laws-they thought I was absolutely crazy...

This is our first trip, so why not...:sunny: :bounce: :Pinkbounc I'm so excited for all of the character meals-I figure that we'll eat a big breakfast & dinner and can grab counter service for lunch. This is a surprise trip for my DDs (5 & 8) and I've saved, gotten good deals on our rooms, etc., so this is our area to splurge!:)
