I have to call and make my ADRs on Sunday morning and am finalizing my plans. My fiancee wants to go to the dueling piano bar one evening instad of DTD, and I'm not sure which restaurant we should go to that evening (which should be Wed. Sept 9, if that matters at all). Any suggestions? Would it be possible to eat in the World Showcase and then walk over to the Boardwalk? Anything good closer? Oh, we only have one TS credit for this night. Thanks so much!

you could very easily walk over, or ride the friendship over to WS have dinner and be back in no time!

I've also heard that the Big River Grill on the boardwalk is really good.

My DH and I are planning to do the same thing however Disney do not book ADRs for Big River... So if you want to book a table you will have to call them direct.

Think we are just going to see if we can get a walk up on the night if not back to WS to use one of our CS credits.

Big River, ESPN, Cape May Clam Bake..... all within easy distance of Jelly Rolls

Spoodles is very good, and Flying Fish is excellent. But I think FF takes 2 TS credits.

WS, the Yacht and Beach Club, and the Swan and Dolphin are all in walking distance to Jellyrolls. So you have plenty of options for dinner. If possible, try to make a later reservation since Jellyrolls doesn't really get going until 9:30 -10pm.

First of all Congratulations on your upcoming Wedding!!
Both Flying Fish and Yachtsman Steakhouse are 2 TS credits.
On the Boardwalk is ESPN Club which is a typical Sports Bar as far as food and atmosphere go. Good, not great, food and lots of action. Spoodles is about to close and change to a Cat Cora restaurant and I don't think it will be available in Sept. FF is 2 credits. We have enjoyed the Big River Grill in the past and it is practically next door to Jellyrolls.
The restaurants of the Swan & Dolphin are all within walking distance, but they are not on the DDP.
The Cape May Cafe is a clambake themed buffet at the Beach Club. We have enjoyed this in the past.
It is an easy walk (we do it all the time) to the restaurants of World Showcase in Epcot. You would need Park admission to go to a restaurant there. Our favorites include :
Teppan Edo in Japan - a beautiful restaurant, warm friendly servers and good food. The chef cooks right at your table and entertains as he does. A must do for us each trip
Restaurant Marrakkesh in Morroco. Again a beautiful restaurant with great service and good food. A band and belly dancer perform durning dinner and it is great.
Rose & Crown in the UK
Biergarden in Germany
Le Cellier in Canada

As you can see there are many choice prior to going to Jellyrolls.
You can look at the menus here and also at allearsnet.com. See what food appeals to you and DF and go from there. Be sure to get your ADR's on Sunday and you will be good to go.
Have a Great Trip

We were thinking of also trying one night to just walk-up to Big River so that we had some flixability on the swim time. But after seeing this post I am wondering, do most people call direct and get a ressie ? And will we have trouble just walking up ? And last but not least, could someone please pm me the number so I can call if we decide to go this route. Thanks

Spoodles is the best choice for a 1TS meal. It's supposed to close at some point, however. Not sure when.

I highly recommend Big River Grille. Here's my review of Big River:

They do not take reservations here but we were seated immediately. We had a nice table by the window and could look out onto the Boardwalk while we dined. The restaurant looked about half empty. Our waitress was a delightful girl and since DH didn't know what the beers would taste like he asked her opinion. She told him some detail on each one and then he went with a coke as he was still unsure of what their beer would taste like. When our drinks were served, she brought DH a sample of one of the beers that she thought he may like. He ordered one then. DD17 & I ordered the ribs. We both agreed that they were the best we've ever had. DD17 orders ribs everywhere so for her to say that – it really means something. DSonIL ordered the mahi mahi and it was also delish. All 6 of us were eating off of each others plates the whole way through this meal because everything was delectable. I highly recommend this restaurant and we all believe it was the best meal of the trip. DD19 had the hazelnut chicken and it was to die for. She said she must have it again on their honeymoon. DD’s friend had the chicken alfredo and it was also good.

Thats good to know the girl at Disney just said they don't take reservations for them. DH is into his real ale etc and is wanting to try all of the different options there.
