I am planning our dining reservations for our Christmas trip, but getting stuck on where to eat Christmas dinner? There will be 8 of us, all adults except for DD-6 and DS-9. Any suggestions? We are staying away from MK that day, so do not want a resteraunt inside MK. What are your experiences or ideas? Thanks in advance for any help! :goodvibes

I know you said you're staying away from MK but would you consider an MK resort? Last year for Christmas dinner, my family ate at Kona Cafe at the Poly. For Christmas Eve, we ate at Narcoossee's. Both were good but if I had it to do over...I'd go wtih Narcoossee's for Christmas. My family all agreed that it was the best meal of the trip. Plus if your ADR is during Wishes, you'll be able to watch it from the deck.

I am not oposed to MK resorts, just the park. I had thought about Narcossee's, but then I read somewhere (can't remember where) and it said something about a special menu/ or perhaps meal on Christmas. I wondered if that meant you could not order off the regular menu???? Or maybe it just meant as an option??? Does anyone know? I want to try their regular menu, it looks so good, and will pick it another day if we can't order from it on Christmas.

I hope someone can answer that for you since I'm not sure about a special menu. I know for Christmas Eve, we ordered off the regular menu. Good Luck! Whatever you decide on, I'm sure will be great. You can't beat Disney World at Christmas time :)

We have never gone to a park on xmas day and we are veterans of many wdw trips and xmas week for the last 4 years. We usually get up, open gifts(we drive from Boston and bring tree, gifts). have a late breakfast at 1900PF tour the gingerbread house then go to a movie, shop, mini-golf(also did ICE! at Gaylord Palms one yr) then hit a resort for nice holiday dinner. We have eaten at Artist Point and the fireplace and tree at WL make the holiday spirit; California Grill 9pm with view of Wishes also amazing; your kids might enjoy Aloha Show at Poly or HDDR at Fort Wilderness and you can also see the fireworks from Poly Beach. We just like to keep the craziness from the holiday itself. We have done CP xmas eve and eaten at Le Cellier and seen 8:15 show and really put us in the mood for xmas morning. We are arriving 12/26 this year so we will be traveling on the holiday.

Be sure to check as most do have a SET special menu for Christmas day. We found out the hard way and I thought we were ablt to order off the menus as well and couldn't:( None of our family enjoyed the meal they were serving.

Some places do have special holiday menus and that is all you can order from. Only problem is they are not released until very near the date if they are even released at all. 2 years ago they never released anything and when I called and talked to someone that day I was given a different menu then what was served that very night.

We have done Whispering Canyon and Ohana. WCC had a special skillet and there was no other offerings just the skillet. It was good though. Had roast turkey, pork and chicken as well as brisket as green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, and salad. Dessert was the only disappointing thing.

Ohana was the regular menu nothing special. We did that last year with a party of 10, 6 of them being kids, and we had a blast.

This year my kids picked Chef Mickeys. Not too excited about that one but I let them pick Christmas dinner and they all voted for it so I will sit and suffer LOL

OP here. Good to know about many of the resteraunts having special menus. Does anyone else know of rest. in the past that have had special menus? Or any other ideas of where to eat Christmas day? We will be having breakfast at Boma's, but also want a sit down dinner that night. Thanks to those that have responded!:santa:

We have the same dilemma. I suspect you could pay a lot more at a fancy restaurant for the same turkey dinner you could cheaper somewhere else. We tried WC but thought it was only edible not even good. One year we had a very good Christmas dinner at trls end and if it isn't something you like there is always their fried chicken.

We had the regular menu at CG and Artist Point for xmas day. They had holiday addition to the menu of special app, entree, dessert, but regular menu. allears.net has past holiday menus for you to see, but can't guarantee these would be same. There is also a holiday pricing at xmas time for meals, but if you are on DDP, that really doesn't make any difference to you.

We went to Cape May for Christmas--they had some holiday items like turkey with dressing. It was very good.

We had dinner on Christmas Eve at the Grand Floridian Cafe, but they just had their regular menu.
