We are at VWL and would like a substantial meal before heading to the party.
We will have the DDE so would like a sit-down restaurant and would prefer not to go into a park.
I would suggest taking the bus to TTC and then the Resort monorail one stop (or walk) to the Poly and eat at Kona. Here is their dinner menu . They are used to people showing up in costume before MNSSHP. Also they are set up in such a way that especially if you have early reservations they can seat a large group.
We ate at LTT before MNSSHP in 03. It was cool, we came in costume and went to LTT when MK was all "normal", and when we came out it was transformed into a Halloween wonderland!
O'Hana's or Chef Mickey's might be a good choice, close to MK but not in it. Have you tried WCC? That kind of fun could really get you in the mood for MNSSHP.
Whatever you chose, have a great time at MNSSHP! We love it!
If you're going to be at Wilderness Lodge, why wouldn't you go to Whispering Canyon? I would imagine they would have a great time with you if you were in costume. We've always enjoyed eating there, and if you were to go for an early dinner, they aren't too crowded. The best part is that you're then that much closer to the party. No trying to get on a bus from DTD to get to MK. Just take the boat.
ughh have you ever been to planet hollywood...the food is lousy and overpriced...its pretty bad when your at the time 6 year old daughter says that her grilled cheese is gross!!
they should go and eat at the rainforest cafe....great atmosphere and loads to see...
Last year we had a late lunch at WCC, and we'll be doing the same again this year.
We made a AR for 2:30 and all had the skillet lunch (and my son had the endless milkshake - yum). It was very filling and we didn't need to eat for the rest of the day.
You could get into the park for MNSSHP starting around 4pm. You could eat at either LTT or Tony's Town Square. This way you could get a head start on the party before the 7pm crowd arrives.
Thanks for all your suggestions. We are going to WCC the night before with a large group and did not want to repeat. We have a car so your other suggestions would be easy to get to and we could just come back to the Lodge and take the boat to Magic Kingdom. A late lunch would probably be best since most of the dinners (except for DTD) don't start until 5:30. Thanks again!
I've heard/read alot about people doing dinner (ADR) for MNSSHP nights....and alot of people are doing...LTT ...I've alos heard some doing Tony's...but I haven't heard much about people picking Crystal Palace or even CRT...is there a reason these are not picked on MNSSHP nights?

I've wondered the same thing. We're eating at CRT the night we're going to the party. I originally wanted LTT like everybody else, but since it was booked I decided to try CRT instead. Now I'm glad. I'm sure it's fun to see the characters in costume at LTT, but I've never been to CRT, and I think we'll like the food there a lot better, as well as getting to eat in the castle!
I was just asking....because we too have ADR at CRT before our MNSSHP on October 20th 5:30 Yep...perfect time...perfect place. We were not able to get ADR at CRT for breakfast but.....we'll atleast still be able to eat in the castle. And their dinner menu looks very good.
