Where to Eat Again after Fantasmic Package

We have a 3:30 ADR for dinner at Brown Derby for Tuesday, July 13. Fantasmic is scheduled for 9 PM that night so we will probably be hungry after the show. I could not get any late ADR for any of the epcot restaurants even though the park has late hours that night. Are there any good places to table service late at night? There is a 10:15 ADR for Wolfgang Puck Cafe in Downtown Disney - will we have enough time? What has been your experience with late night dining? We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Thank you for your comments and help.

I was going to suggest WP especially after seeing your name. Do you have your own car or will you be taking Disney bus? The timing may be tight. How late of an ADR can you get? What's the latest WP is open?

We ate there 3 times last Sept. It was our first (and 2nd, and 3rd) times. We liked it that much.

As long as it takes to get out of Hollywood Studios, I just like to call it a night, head back to the resort, grab something from counter service, and go relax in front of the tv.

I find it hard to get back to the resort from DD that late at night, unless you want to stand up for the 25 minute ride back to WL.

Fantasmic is almost and hour show and then you have to file out of the theatre which is usually filled to capacity, and out of the park. If you are getting on a bus it can sometimes be quite a wait since the park closes after Fantasmic the whole park is emptying. If you are driving you have to make it to your car. So if you see the 9 PM Fantasmic its going to be pretty difficult to make it to your 10:15 ressie at DTD. We always get a Turkey leg and popcorn as we enter Fantasmic and have a snack then if we are hungry when we leave we stop and get something on the way to the room. WP is AWESOME so I hope you get to fit it in...but I don't know that I would try to do it that night...

I can't imagine wanting another full TS meal after three courses at Brown Derby... I'd try the Wolfgang Puck Express or Earl of Sandwich, not sure how late they are open though. Raglan Road and Paradiso 37 are open until 11 or 12 at DTD (heard from someone who got kicked out of Paradiso right at 11 though). Or try Planet Hollywood or House of Blues. After the PI clubs were shut down, there are really no late night TS dining options.

It won't be easy getting to DTD from the Studios, there's no direct bus. You'd need to go to another resort to catch a DTD bus. You could try eating at the Swan/Dolphin (that won't work if you are on the dining plan).

There's always grabbing some food from Roaring Forks at WL.

Despite what the PP said above, Fantasmic itself lasts about 30 minutes, give or take a couple. But I wouldn't count on being out of the park until 10:00. That's a *lot* of people trying to clear the theater, and there's only one way out of the park. You *might* be able to get out by 9:50-9:55, but no earlier.

The closest resort is Boardwalk and at that time I'd probably walk it rather than take the boat. But can you not get into Kouzzina or Flying Fish? Or another Epcot resort restaurant like Yachtsman Steakhouse or Kimonos or Shula's?

I usually just grab some CS back at the resort, I think scheduling a TS meal would just be too much trouble, and probably wouldn't have enough time to get there.

I agree. That bus ride to/from DTD seems to go on FOREVER.

The brewery on the boardwalk serves great casual food and is open late. Rarely would you need a resie for that hour. If they are not open there are spots to grab food on the Boardwalk.

Big River is open until midnight.

That stated, a caution about trying to get walk up seating there late. We are DVCers who own at Boardwalk and always stay in a Boardwalk view villa, usually down towards the Jellyrolls end of the complex. So we are intimately familiar with late night crowd patterns on the Boardwalk in and around Big River. And I can tell you that area usually stays quite active until well after 11.

And because you can't make ADRs at Big River (although there is work around to that I'll explain below), the walk up wait line there is busy all evening and goes on surprisingly late. So I wouldn't assume that showing up at "a late hour" guarantees you will be seated immediately.

Now, on that ADR thing: Big River is a private concession, ergo it isn't owned or run by Disney, which is why you can't make ADRs for it through Disney dining. But you can call them directly at 407-560-0253 and make a traditional reservation.

So if I was the OP and wanted a guaranteed backup, no-wait post Fantasmic TS, I'd investigate calling BR to make a 10:15-ish ressie.
