Going to Vero beach this summer wondering where there is to dine for one night at Vero??
Also, do I need to make a ressie in advance to eat there??

Suscribing as we will be there in late June and wondering the same thing.

Anyone signed the kids up for the fishing thing? Did the kids enjoy it? My oldest wants to go fishing while in Vero, but need to know if this will be enough or do I need to hire a boat??

Squid Lips - very casual seafood
Capt Hirams - very casual seafood
Ocean Grille - Slightly upscale seafood
Ti Amo Sempre - slightly upscale Italian

My two oldest have done the fishing thing. It is ok not great but ok! THey did have fun catching blue gills. If your son is an avid fisherman rent a rod at Wabasso Tackle and go to Sebastian Inlet. All within 5 miles. However if your kids just like the idea of fishing the pond across A1A is just right!

We really liked Squid Lips. I'm planning to buy a case of their vanilla vinagrette dressing this year - because the one bottle I brought home last year lasted about two weeks!

Thanks for the info.,,

How about dining right at Disneys' Vero?? I heard there are two restr. Do you need to make ADR's????????

We ate at Shutters at the resort last weekend for both dinner and breakfast. We thought the food was very good, the prices not too bad. Best of all they take the DDE card.

No - we had no problem getting a table any time we went. Of course when we were there the resort was only at about 35% capacity.

I only make ADR's prior to getting there when we have a large crowd. Outside of that I make them typically the day of.

The one exception is the cahracter breakfast. I lock this up when I aarive at the resort.

Most of the time we go the resort is pretty full as well.

I second the Ocean Grill. Fantastic but very busy on weekend nights. Go on a weekday for lunch as I think they are closed on weekends for lunch. Cool experience and great food!

My husband and I went to vero 2 yrs ago and ate at the Shutters. I will not eat there again. We were the only ones in the restaruant and the chef over cooked the fish. So it was mush.

We ate at squid lips and it was a nice view with good food and reasonably priced. http://www.squidlipsgrill.com/

Yay - this is good to know as we just purchased the DDE card 10 days ago when we were at WDW - glad I got it.

Is there a place to see menus for Shutters online? We're going to Vero Bch a week from Sunday. :scared1: I just realized we're leaving in less than two weeks and I haven't given it any thought except to make sure I have our confirmation (with directions) and got a Vero Beach street map from AAA.

We always go to Rita's. They have Italian Ice and Gelati
601 20th Place Vero Beach, FL 32960 and for Pizza we go to Nino's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria 1006 Easter Lily Lane Vero Beach, FL 32963 (772) 231-9311. Nino's is a block or two south of the street the Ocean Grille is on. Both are very good. Try a Pina Colada Italian Ice with Vanilla Gelati at Rita's.

Can you provide some details about the character breakfast please. We are thinking of taking our two young children next month. Is this something we should do with them?

We enjoyed the Ocean Grill ad Captain Hiram's. We had breakfast at Shutters one morning and it was very good. We had flatbreads 2x at the Green Cabin room and really liked the pool bar food. HAVE A GREAT TIME!
