I there a place to purchase wine at WDW. Would be nice to have a bottle or two to keep in our room.

I believe most if not all the resorts have some wine in their gift shops. Also, Epcot's World Showcase. The prices are a bit higher than in the regular stores offsite, but if you don't have a car then you have to pay the prices.

We always purchase a bottle or two for our room ( I even pack 2 plastic wine glasses, so we can have wine and cheese by the pool) We have found wine selections at the world showcase at several of the countries, but the best price is at DTD.....the kitchen shop. Sorry, I don't know the name of the shop, but it's over by the RainForest, where they sell Mickey kitchen items. PS....if you are a true wino (like us, lol) be sure to pick up the mickey ears wine stopper while you are there.
We have purchased wine at our resort, but it seems a bit more expensive, and the POFQ has a very limited selection.

There is always the option for "bag in a box" in a suitcase.:goodvibes
which travels very well in the baggage compartment of an airline.

There's wine all over Disney World. All the resort gift shops have it and even the food courts will have some cold. France, Germany and Italy all sell bottles of wine. It is expensive but it you really want it, it's there. Personally, I always take wine in my suitcase. I just put it in the laundry bag just in case but I've never had any bottle break yet.

I've packed wine my suitcase as well. Wrap in some bubble wrap, put in a bag and you are good to go.

Remember to bring a corkscrew!! It was nice to have a glass of wine on the balcony while dd was resting.

We bought some wine at a liquor store on 192 when we were there just a few weeks ago. You can get wine at the grocery stores also if you have a car.

I was always affraid of packing a bottle in my suitcase, since we love red wine. I was scared of red wine stained clothes, if broken. We have tried to boxed wine before and some are quite good. It may be an option for us next trip.I love those cute little spigots on the boxes and they seem well sealed. Thanks for the advice.

PS....we like red wine from South Africa, and found some really interesting choices at a couple of the shops at the AK.

Just wondering if anyone knows if you can buy white zinfidel in a bottle at Caribbean Beach Resort at one of the shops?

I don't know about CBR, but WL had White Zinfindel when we were there last week.

That is where I bought it when we stayed at WL last year! It was so convenient. I was hoping that CB had it also.

Now i like this type of thread - not that we are winos you understand!! :rolleyes1
DH and i are really cheap i'm afraid - we have bought a couple of bottles form the shop at WL, but usually we have a hire car and head to the nearest Publix, where we stock up on our favourites - so much cheaper than back home in the UK. We then stick a couple of bottles in the fridge and enjoy a cool drink in the evening when we get back to the resort.

Wine is sold in all the sundry shops at WDW but to be very honest and it really only costs a little more and it's well worth it but France in World Showcase has the best. :thumbsup2

If you have a car wine is sold at supermarkets.

Italy & Germany also sell wine. We found South African wines at the Animal Kingdom Lodge's Zawadi Marketplace.

I ordered 4 bottles from wine.com and had them delivered to Poly. It was waiting for us when we checked in. We were set for the week without hitting a gift shop or market. Even with shipping, it was cheaper with a better selection.

I bought a half-size bottle for just around $10 at the food court at ASMu. It was about 3 glasses worth, so it was better priced than a restaurant or the pool bar, but I had the luxury of taking it back to my room. It had a screw top too, so no corkscrew needed. I don't remember the brand offhand, but I'm fairly knowledgeable about wine and it was definitely a respected/reasonable name.

As for boxed wine, Black Box is quite good and a good value. I think they actually win awards. White and red.

Hapi, where are you staying and what do you like to drink. DW and I love our wines and have a lot of WDW wine experience. Without knowing your preferences, my general conclusions are:

1. Italy and France are good by-the-glass options. If you eat at Le Cellier they offer a couple of very good by-the-bottle options. In either case, prepare to pay a lot, even by WDW standards. IMHO, it is worth it in EPCOT.

2. At AKL there are great offerings at the bar and both JIKO and BOMA. However, the best value is to buy it by the bottle at the gift shops.

3. Next year, the dining plans will have a wine option. It appears to be a pretty good deal if you are going to drink a bottle a day (a lot for even us, but I am always up for a challenge). Look into it.

We always stay at a resort with a balcony and there is nothing better after a day at the parks then relaxing on the balcony with a good glass.

I got a tip on this board to take a bus to PI & then walk down the walkway & cross the street (there is a crossing light there) to Hess. My DH did this on our recent trip & it worked out great & was a lot cheaper. He brought a rolling collapsible cooler & filled it with beer & wine & soda & propped a case of water on top. He was able to bring it on the bus with no problem & there were some other guests doing the same exact thing. Although I have to agree that the bottle of Rose Regale was only a bit more in Epcot than what we pay here, but I wouldn't want to be lugging more than a bottle or two back to our resort.
