Where to buy best raingear for little kids?

In trying to figure out what to pack, I want to bring some type of poncho for a 4yr old & 6 yr old. I'm trying to figure out where I should order their rain gear. I didn't really want to buy anything that there would wear and then it would just rip apart. My kids are pretty tough on clothes so I need something a little durable.

Target has some really cute & well priced rain gear. I just bought my daughter (3) & son (1) rain boots & raincoats. They are pretty thick. They had Sunny Patch Kid themes & also pink with butterflies or blue with frogs.

I also some stuff in the Landsend Children's catalog the other night. Hope that helps.

I saw some cute lady bug(had boyish ones too) ponchos at Big Lots I'm gonna check them out they seemed thick. I didn't pick it up last time so I hope I can still find them. I'm mad at myself now for not getting it.

But I also have a jacket I picked up at sears its weather proofed and has a hood its thin and light weight though. Best thing was I got it for $5(it was $45 regular) it was clearance and I used a coupon. So that will work for her but I still wanna see if I can find that poncho again.

When my kids were that age they were very uncomfortable in a poncho and preferred a regular kids raincoat. I just bought the ones from wallmart or target and brought them with me, somtimes disney themed sometimes not. Use a large ziplock and you can fold the raincoat almost as small as a poncho and use the ziplock to carry it when necessary. It also makes it easy to see your kids in the sea of mickey ponchos. My dd had a princess atta raincoat that was bright purple and I could spot her a mile away!!

If you are using a stroller we used the dollar store clear poncho's to cover the stroller, especially in the afternoon if we were going to spend some time in an attraction. You can get a quick downpour without warning and its nice to have a dry stroller.

If you are going in spring, or summer boots may not be necessary. It only showers for a short time and my kids would be to hot in rainboots. We wore good fitting teva or merril sandles in summer trips to keep cool, comfy and not worry about the showers.

Thanks for the great advice, tjmw2727. I really appreciate it. I didn't think abuot putting them in ziploc bags. That would definitely take up less room.

Not sure if your kids are girls? Someone had a thread on the budget board yesterday for princess poncho's available from a catalog (sorry can't remember name). They were $4.99 each, but you had to pay shipping. They were cute tho!
