I need help- we are leaving in 4 weeks and I need to buy our AP's- Where do I buy them so I get the DVC discount AND are they sent to us or can we pick them up when we arrive at the resort? Should I have them sent to us? Will they get here in enough time before we leave? Please help- I am ready to call whoever I need to get this done- Thx!

You don't need to purchase your APs ahead of time. You can get them at any park on your arrival day. I think you can also get them at DTD, but I'm not sure...someone else will chime in about that one.

We purchased ours last summer at the International Gateway in Epcot. We just walked over from BCV, showed them our DVC membership cards for the discount, & it took less than 10 minutes. No

problem!

Have fun! You're going to love AKV!!

Yes, there are Guest Relations places in DTD to get the AP.

Thx! I didn't know if it was a good idea to wait until our arrival day or not- won't stress on it anymore...

When we buy our AP both my Husband and I have to show our ID's, So be sure to have ID's. Most of all don't forget your DVC cards.

Can you also get the TBIW card in DDT or do you have to order it ahead of time???

You can get the DDE/TIW card at guest services when you purchase your pass. I have gotten it at the Downtown Disney guest services location.

Here is a related question.....

Can I purchase multiple AP's for future use?

Yes you can update it on any day. Just to avoid problems I wouldn't use up the entire 7 days before you update to an AP, although I've read that you have up to 14 days after first use to update - but I'm unsure of whether you need to make sure it is not "used up". And you are correct your AP will be backdated to the first day of use. We did this in 2008, and it was very easy. Don't forget your DVC card for that really nice DVC AP discount! :)

It's actually cheaper to renew an AP instead of purchasing a new one each time. But I guess you could buy an AP voucher, and don't activate it until future use.

I've seen several post about upgrading your MYW tickets to APs after you used them for a day or two. Is there an advantage doing it that way instead of just upgrading in advance of using them?:confused3

Thanks
Ty

It depends upon where you purchased the MYW ticket. If you purchased it from a discounter, if you do not use it prior to upgrading, you will receive only the discounted price. If you use the ticket first, you will recieve the gate price upon upgrade.

Really? Why wouldn't everyone do this then?

They aren't on here reading how to make best use of ALL your Disney things.

You just got me thinking.

I should purchase the ticket that has the biggest discount off of the gate prices.:thumbsup2

I hadn't actually thought about it before...

I was only going to buy a 6 day park hopper then upgrade to AP.
That would save $21 but if I add the no expiration to it
it says it is $32 off the regular price....
That would save $11 more a ticket.:cool1:

OK, I'm even more confused. Let's say I buy a 7 day MYW park hopper for $286. Disney sells it for $297.07. If I use it for one day, then upgrade it to AP, do I get a credit towards my AP of $297.07?

Yes... that is how is works...:cool1:

Except I just need to make sure I don't buy a ticket that cost more than the AP....:lmao:

I think the 6 day Park hopper at $348.... $30.08 savings... $378.08
Might be the best deal for upgrading to a regular AP...

unless they don't count the tax.:confused3

Now I'm confused... The base DVC AP price is $369. So does the ticket price have to be less than that ???
or less than the whole total with tax???

Do they take off the tax paid too?
If not the ticket is only $355...Only $7 less....
That is where you save they don't charge you tax....
