Hello all,

I've recently come back from a trip to WDW with my family. Whilst over there my DBF asked me to marry him! :lovestruc It was a total surprise and one memory I'll cherish forever!

Previously, we've talked about getting married over in WDW and I was just wondering - were on earth do I start? It probably won't be for a couple of years yet, but I'd like to get some sort of an idea on what it'd be on average for costs etc. (I understand they'll change year on year, but if I could get some sort of an idea it'd help decided if it's right for us) Anyone point me anywhere or give me any starting points? Coming from the UK also, any UK WDW brides give me any hints on how to research things this side of the pond? :goodvibes

TIA

I just want to say :welcome::cheer2:Congratulations. I am sure Carrie and some of the other UK brides will be along soon. You can start with the disney wedings website. I do not know the address for UK. You can also download a copy of Carrie's Book from the Passporter website. You have already started by joining this wonderful site. More detail information will be coming your way soon.

Congrats and welcome :cheer2:
I have to say this website has been a god-sent for helping us and guiding us through the process!!!! The Disney Fairytale Weddings website is very informative and gives prices on different package deals :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies :goodvibes It just seems like I really don't even know were to begin looking! I'll most certainly look into the website and download the book you talk of, I'm sure I'll gather the basic information from there :thumbsup2

Welcome! Keep an eye on the boards (you'll learn answers to questions you never even knew existed!) and check out some of the recent brides planning journals and trip reports. You can see the whole process from start to finish. It seems a bit overwhelming now, but by the time you're ready to call Disney, you'll be an expert!

Congratulations on your engagement :)

I'm from the UK and planning a Disney wedding for April 2012.
Firstly you'll need to decide if an Escape or Wishes wedding is for you, this will determine a rough idea of costs.

Escape weddings are good if you have a smaller number of guests, we will have less than 18 so it was perfect for us. Depending on the location you want for this years prices, also prices are remaining the same for 2011 (let' hope that doesn't mean a HUGE increase in 2012) price rang from $4750 - $5750 I think it is. This includes ceremony location, 2 tier cake, bouquet, 4 hour limo hire and im sure someone will help if i've missed anything of the list :)

The Wishes wedding has a minimum cot of $12,000 i think plus tax. If you look on Disneys wedding website you'll find more information about the options avaliable.

We are looking at spending around £8,000-10,000 in total, this does include the wedding, flights for us both (and our mums), villa, hotel, car, 4 night Bahamas cruise, 3 nights in Miami - so basically the cost of the wedding, trip & a 'honeymoon' week elsewhere

Thank-you Sarah & Cole, that was great to read! :goodvibes

We're in the very early stages, as we only got engaged in Epcot on May 10th! :lmao: We're just trying to weigh things up and hopefully sort something :goodvibes

Congratulations! Like it has been said the PassPorter's Disney Wedding guide by Carrie has been very helpful to me and I often use it. Just reading these boards have given me so much information on things I never even thought about! Plus if you are lost or have questions normally someone here will have the answers to help you.

Here as well as the Disney Wedding website are great places to start. Try to narrow down a budget, number of people, and what kind of wedding you would like to have are important things to start thinking about as well.
