Where to begin??

WOW, I just found this forum! Hat's off to all the DISigners! How creative and generous of you!

I'd love to make some shirts for our upcoming trip but I have never done this before.

Before I start requesting designs is there a type of design that is easiest to work with for a beginner? I am looking at a bumch of the names type of designs and mickey heads. How do I know if I want light or dark transfer? Is there a type/color/material of shirt that is easiest to work with?

Any tips on picking my first design for a trial-run would be appreciated

First of all - Welcome!!

It's really VERY easy! The most important thing I'd suggest for you is to use Amy's transfers - she is another DISigner here (M I C K E Y) - her transfers are absolutely the BEST and the only one's you'll regularly see recommended here by ALL the DISigners! www.amymickey.com

You don't need a "special shirt or certain color" with her transfers, they work on anything and they are so EASY to use!!!

Second......... look through the DISigners threads and shared files......... there is TONS to see!!! If you want something customized, just ask on that designers thread. If you just have an "idea" for something or don't see something, then post a general request and someone will make it for you!

One other piece of advice I will give you - when making request try to be as specific as possible........ it's VERY helpful to your designer!

Also, up top on the sticky's there is DETAILED instructions on how to iron on your design, plus there are MANY threads with directions for that as well as how to's for just about everything.......... but, again, if you need help or info, ask away!!!

So, browse around....... if you can think it up......... it's probably here!!! From shirt designs to invites to candy bag toppers to sippy cup inserts....... you name it........... it's all here!!! LOL

You need to plan on spending a few hours a day on this board alone...there is just so much to see and many designs to request. The first time I went with shirts, we had one for everyday and I had many more designs that I didn't even use..some I will this year Don't forget mousekeeping envelopes, tip envelopes etc....have a great time looking at all these awesome designers threads and photobuckets...enjoy and get ready for some fun work and I agree with wendypooh re:M I C K E Y's transfers they are the BEST!!!
