Where the July 25, 2010 Wonder Double Dippers at?

I think I am on the road to being "overpacked". Can you guys give me an idea of what you are bringing (# of items too). For instance...my children....I have 4 bathing suits each....Mairey has 4 dresses (3 are sun dresses and 1 is a little fancier) and a pirate dress for pirate night. She has 2 bathing suit cover ups and 4 short outfits plus a few extra t-shirts. She also has a black minnie mouse hooded sweatshirt that I ordered on sale (personalized) from Disney for the cooler evenings. Oh and a few pair of pajamas.

It's pretty much the same thing for Landen...but I also added 2 different types of khaki pants to go with his dress shirts (little plaid short sleeve button down and polo type) and dress shorts. He also has a mickey hooded sweatjacket.

As for me...I'm doing 3 bathing suits (which I'll wash and re-use as well)...3 swim cover ups...4 short sets...5 dresses (one is dressier cause we are going to Palo...the rest are cute sun dresses)and a few pair of pajamas. Same for DH but I added the dress shirt, tie, and dress pants for Palo for him. And DH and I also have pirate shirts for the pirate party.

I just feel like we are overpacking. Right now I have started putting everything in 2 suitcases plus a carry on. I know already that those suitcases are heavy...so I'll pull some things out and add them to Mairey, Landen, and my carry on.

I wouldnt' be so worried if we were driving down to Florida...but we are flying and I would rather avoid paying all this extra money for baggage if we don't really need to...know what I mean.

Let me know if the stuff above looks about right....or if we can downsize. I still have to bring all of our shoes (I'll do a pair of flip flops for each of us for pool and beach...and then 2 pair of dress sandals for me and Mairey...dress sandals for Landen...dress sandals for Frank & I'll also have to pack dress shoes for Palo for DH.)

Thanks in advance!

after having everything all laid out go thru and see what you can do without you know your family best do they need so many pj's? could they maybe wear shorts more then once but wear a different shirt the jackets are a good thing its not likely the air outside will be cool but the a/c can be down right frigid sometimes esp in the theaters and that can be day or night shoes I know take up alot of space I wear a fancy pair of flip flops to dinner yes even if I dress up...I love flip flops and they are easy to pack. Like I said you know your family best ....but I know the one big thing people always say is they brought way to many clothes....good luck

I guess I was stressing about our clothes for no reason....:rotfl: I just weighed one of our suitcases and it's coming up between 37.5 and 41 lbs...(the 41 was when I pushed down on it a bit because it seemed like it was going to fall). I took a break from packing to come on and check the boards.

I know that I won't be officially packed until Thursday because we have 2 parties tomorrow and we plan on going to Sesame Place on Sunday. We'll also be spending some time in the pool before we head to "Mickey Land" Thursday night.

I can't believe that our cruise will be happening next week:banana:

Windan....We are from NJ too : ) I started getting all the clothes and things together, but I think today will be the day that I really start putting the things in suitcases. I dropped the kids off to my inlaws house so that I could take the time to get things organized without them getting into thing...LOL.

Hi Kim!! What part of Jersey are you from? We're in North Jersey...West Milford (Bear country...not country bear jamboree ) Can you believe our trip is almost here? When our son (20) was little we enjoyed going to Sesame Place.

Ohhhh yes!!! Sooo excited that I actually dreamed of mickey bars? I guess I've been looking at all the food pics people have been posting. :surfweb: Can't wait to try the Konk Koolers everyone's been talking about!

Dreamin' about Mickey Bars is a good thing :mickeybar DW and I are really looking forward to trying the Konk Koolers!!

saw your post on Palo figured I would answer here so we can get closer to page 10...LOL... you could always try to get a brunch it will be on sea day then you wouldn't miss any dinners with the kids and hubby wouldn't have to dress up...you would have to go to wavebands once boarding and see about it that is always an option for you:thumbsup2

I posted a thread on the main board but wondered if anyone else here has reservations for Palo. We have a reservation for 8 PM on the 2nd night. (That was the best we could get given the fact that I waited so long to make up my mind about doing it.)

I was wondering if Palo was really worth it to miss a night of dining in one of the other restaurants. Someone suggested asking DCL to make that night Parrot Cay since we plan on dining there for lunch the first day. I just want to make sure the kids don't miss anything like Animators or even Tritons since DD loves The Little Mermaid.

I guess I'm second guessing myself now and wondering if I should just cancel the reservation. We have the later dining so I'm not sure if I can ask to be moved to the earlier seating for just that evening so we can take our kids to dinner in one of the dining rooms...otherwise we just planned on getting something for them from room service or one of the other places.

The kids will also be in the lab/club during our Palo reservations. I know that they are going to love it...but I guess I'm just getting worried being that it's our first time cruising and we've never done anything like this. I feel like DH and I are going to be worried about what's happening with them and maybe not enjoy Palo as much as we should.

What would you do?

Is Brunch offered on our cruise? It's not listed with the online reservations. Or is that something that is just done once we are onboard?

see my post above this we must of posted at the same time...LOL..I don't think they will move you early for one night but maybe IDK and they wouldn't really know till after the first night to see if there is room you really won't miss out if you don't go the first time again another reason to sail again we didn't do Palo till the 2nd cruise and maybe the brunch will be a better choice just in case your DS doesn't like the clubs you will know after day one and if you got a brunch date you could always cancel if he doesn't like the clubs

yes its on the sea day but they only release a few on line then when u get onboard you can go to wavebands to try and get one if your there pretty early you probably won't have any trouble thats how we got ours on the 2nd cruise

just thought of this also, if you get to move to an early dinner that night then you all would miss the show for that night too cause you would be dining when the first one is going on and eating at Palo for 2nd just another thing for u to consider

Can't believe a week from today,we will be in Florida! Flying in a day early to play on the beach! Plus, I don't want the stress of flying in the day we sail.

Got the suitcases down have started stacking some clothes that I intend to pack. Ran to Target and got some things we will need.

The dream is about to come true!!!!:goodvibes:woohoo:

We made it to page 10:yay: This time next week, I'm sure many of us will be pulling into port about this time : )

For those of you flying in....Have you weighed your suitcases? I have a small digital scale and I'm trying to weigh the suitcases but it seems a bit akward and I'm finding I have to hold them a bit to keep them on the scale (bottoms have wheels and those little stands so if I try to stand it up on the scale, the little stands seem to take on the weight instead of the scale.)

Just 7 days left until we set sail!!! :cheer2: Six more until we leave for Florida! Hard to believe it is so close. We booked this trip back in January and it seemed so far away then, but so close now......Just checked to make sure all of our documents were filled out properly. Packing hasn't started yet, but the lists have begun! Magnets, photo mat!!!!! We purchased Smarties, Coffee Crisps and Aero bars today. I understand that these bars cannot be purchased in the US, so thought it might be a nice treat to give with the photo mat to be signed as a special thank you! Has anyone had a photo mat signed? Do I have to let them know which characters I want to sign? Is there a form to fill out onboard?

I have booked a Mickey call for Thursday night! :cool1: I can't wait to see the look on my daughter's face when she answers the phone. Every day she asks "how much longer"!!!!!

Kdl...I also have a photo mat and sharpies. I've got 2 white pillowcases as well. I was just told that you place them in a ziploc bag with your room # on them and give them to guest services. I'm also wondering if anyone else has done this so that I can do the right thing. I'll pick up some candy to place in the bag as well with a thank you card from our family.

Just got off the phone with DCL and asked for the 1st rotation of dining. (We still have the later dining) but the 1st rotation will allow for the children not to miss out on Animators and Tritons. I didn't want them to miss out on the show at Animators because DH and I are going to Palo on the 2nd night.

Trying to get the house straightened up a bit because my dad will be watching the dog and house while we are away....but needed to take a little break and visit the board.

I'm hoping to be able to get out tonight and get one extra battery for our new underwater camera. We got an Olympus because I didn't want to be carrying our Sony or Cannon Rebel (very big and bulky and not water proof!). I love the Olympus and it can shoot over 5 hours of video on one large card. The video is HD quality so that saves me from having to pack a video camera now too! (I'm getting the extra battery because although we are bringing the charger on board...nothing is worse than running low on a battery and not being able to get amazing pics!)

Oh and I finally made all our magnets today. (I made a few on my own and then Jordak made me some pretty amazing ones too!) Now I just have to go through all our things again and I'm hoping to be able to close the suitcases by Wednesday evening. (We are going to Sesame Place on Wed. so I'll need to wash the last of our bathing suits when we get home.)
