Call me a retro geek, nostalgic nerd, or a 1950's wannabe BUT I am so psyched Where the Boys Are is coming on at 6:00.

For those who are yesteryear deprived here is the synopsis...
"Four very different college girls drive to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for spring break and seek out various adventures and romance for themselves."

Of course this is done all in 1960's style with Connie Francis singing:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Does it get any better :confused3:confused3

Mind you I wasn't born until 1965 so this is me living vicariously through pretend people. :rotfl2:

We may be the only two people on the board who love it. I've probably seen it every time it's aired. Wasn't George Hamilton good looking in it? :goodvibes

That's OK at least there are two of us :lmao:

Yeah it's amazing how "Spring Break" has changed so drastically since then. :scared1:

George Hamilton looked adorable;)

Make that three. LOVE this movie! We try to watch it every year during Spring Break.

Nope. Three of us. Of course I'm a chIld of the 50s and George Hamilton was HOT.

YAY!! I am watching it now and love the innocence of it... so precious ;)

I was going to watch it, but I'm watching The Man from Snowy River instead!

I read this post at 6:15 last night and turned on the movie right away. I used to love that movie and watched it every year. I haven't seen it on in years.
Thanks for posting it, it was really a blast from the past.

wasn't able to see it but LOVE it! Did you know Delores Hart, who played Merritt, became a Nun just a few years after making WTBA? I always tease DH that when we to WDWwe are like the movie...bringing our tea and ordering hot water..:lmao: only now I use flavor packs for the water bottles. You have to love that the girls hold out , tho NOTHING like spring break today :sad2:. So , I have to ask, which character are you MOST like?
While I have always loved Merritt , and her name, but I have to go with Tuggle ( Paula Prentiss) I am bruntett, tall, (used to be gawky thin) not the bombshell and usually cut to the chase...how about you other fans of the movie?

Oh, I didn't see this til this morning so I missed it. What station was it on? I can't say I "love" the movie, but I do like it. I was born late 50's. This is the first "adult themed" movie I remember seeing. Frank Gorshwin was pretty funny. :)

Sorry I missed it:headache: I don't think I have seen that movie in ages would of liked to see it. It is soo diffrent seeing it as an adult vs kid :lol

Oh you all are amateurs...I own the DVD!

My sister and I used to become obsessed with certain movies when we were teenagers. Our #1 favorites were Where The Boys Are and Goodfellas. I know....I don't understand that either!

Ummm...that's ok, I get it. I like both those movies too.

agnes!

Love that movie! It was the inspiration for my friends and I to go to Ft. Lauderdale over spring break my senior year of high school. Of course the spring break we experienced was a little different than the movie! :scared1:

I have to say the ending was a bit disturbing... can anyone say "DATE RAPE". Actually poignant and sad.

I love that Dolores Hart became a nun~ Didn't see that one coming. She was so beautiful in that movie. Not that nuns aren't beautiful, I mean I love nuns, I am a Catholic:thumbsup2

I didn't notice any Jello shots or wet T-shirt contests going on either...hmmm times sure have changed and I can't say it's all for the better;)
Swimming in a tank of fake algea in a nightclub or jello shot, let's see now ;)
