Where should we go our first night?

We should be in the world for noonish, so I was thinking of lunch, some pool time, then going to one of the parks for dinner, maybe a character dinner. Any suggestions for a good start to our trip? This will probably be on a Friday if that helps.
I'm just at a loss as to how to start planning our days?!?!?!

what resort are you staying at? what park do you want to go too.

Our first day we usually like to enjoy a lunch either a QS or TS in epcot and then end the evening in the magic kingdom for spectromagic and wishes.

Our first day is more about getting settled in our hotel and less about rushing around from rides to rides...I like to make reservations at Ohana's about 2 hours before spectromagic..We enjoy dinner at Ohana and then make our way back to the magic kingdom for the nighttime entertainment.

For some reason we like to go to San Angle in EPCOT Mexico on our arrival day, then head up to Germany for a beer and watch Illuminations. I think we have done this our last 4 trips.

We (husband, 5 year old and myself) arrived around noon and stayed at Coronado. We went to Animal Kingdom the first day. Ate a quick service meal there as a late lunch. We were there for about 3-4 hours before the whole day kicked in and we were pooped. Went back to the hotel and had a light dinner before unpacking and calling it a day. It was a good start to the rest of the week. To us, Animal Kingdom is the least favorite of the parks so in those few hours we got in everything we wanted to do. Oh and this was on a Friday, too.

The next morning we had 8am reservations for Crystal Palace and that is when the trip really got busy for us.

Our family usually does Chef Mickey's for our first night's dinner. Even though our boys are getting older (ages 9, 9 & 12 this year), we still really enjoy this restaurant. It totally immerses you in Disney and gets us in the Disney-mood!

We always go to Downtown Disney on our first day, basically to wind down from the 10 hour drive & a couple of hours of sleep. That being said, we always go to Wolfgang Puck Cafe for our first dinner.

We always like to visit a nice TS restaurant at Epcot. We usually get in around the same time and then rest by the pool in the afternoon and then hit the park refreshed.

This trip we are getting in about noon and we plan on checking into Yacht club and then heading over to Epcot, we have ADR at San Angel Inn in Mexico for dinner. We have a 5 AM flight that day so I don't think we will be out late the first night or we will have cranky kids with us.

We love to start our vacation off by spending the first day at the water park (relaxing after the drive down) and then go to Hoop De Do review for dinner. That always puts us in the Disney mood!
