popcorn:: My family used to go to WDW every year when I was younger...but lately when I have gone its been with friends in college, so we just ate at counter service places. This year in October I am going with my parents and fiance...I would like to make some ADRs for great restaurants...we will still eat counter service meals most of the time, so I need your help chosing...

1. What are the best restaurants in your opinion? (any meal, breakfast, lunch, or dinner)

2. What is the best character meal?

3. If I make an ADR and decide that day that we cant make it, can I cancel it without being penalized?

Thanks for all your help as usual!!!!

Konas- not bad prices and good food, b/L/D
Cal Grill - do appetizers, cant beat the view, dinner
Chefs De France- we do lunch instead of dinner, menu is the same just lower prices. Plus less noisy, very good food.
Whispering Canyon - dinner can be noisy, but breakfast & lunch are great getaways.
Yachtsmans Steakhouse - this is a xmas tradition, food and service are impeccable.
Raglan Road - food is good, not too expensive and the entertainment in the evening is great, dinner
Citricos - the best! worth every cent we paid, dinner
Characters - 1900 Park Fare is still the best.
Trails End - a steal of a buffet, voted one of the best deals on property by guest many times. B/L/D

Yes, it is fine to cancel ADRs on the same day. Some special locations like Cal Grill or Cindy's will ask for a CC when you reserve a table. If you dont show up they will charge you a fee.

It's really tough to tell you what the "best" meal is, because everyone has different tastes, and you'll get a hundred different opinions.

If you read through the boards, it won't take long to get an idea of what the good restaurants are. And you can look at menus here: http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm, and see what appeals to you and your family.

Also, generally its easier to pick restaurants if you have some basic Itinerary of what you will be doing each day of your vacation. That way you can narrow down your choices to restaurants that will be in the same area of WDW.
