Should I make reservations? And what time are the fireworks?
We are going from Sept 8-12...

Can ya tell I am a newbie?

Well, I suppose this all depends on which fireworks you wish to see. :)

See, I told ya i was a newbie! I never even knew there were more than one fireworks display!

Are there many? If not, I guess I would like info on any of them and where the best restaurants are to veiw them.

If there are a lot of fireworks, I do some more research and come back to re-post my question.

THANKS!

The MK, EPCOT and MGM each have their own shows. For MGM you can pick up fast food and carry it into the Fantasmic show area and eat in your seats. This is a good way to burn some time up waiting. For MK I have 2 favorite places; Plaza Pavillion outdoor area with a clear view of the castle (you need to be at a table along the railing to have a mostly unobstructed view) or Cosmic Rays also has a patio area with a nice view.

EPCOT is a little different, as the show can be seen from many areas. For table service Rose and Crown Pub would be the place, and it can be tough to get a seat around show time. We usually pick up fast food from one of the places (Morocco is a favorite) and then pick a nice bench to eat on. If you have your heart set on a table with a clear view I would be prepared to stake one out early, and just relax over a meal, and maybe then send a party member to pick up a treat or bring one for later.

I agree with ahutton for the MK (Fantasy in the Sky) fireworks, I like the Pizza Pavilion. You COULD get a table at the California Grill. It is hit or miss with regards to getting a window table, but restaurant guests can go out to the observation deck, if it is open.

The Rose and Crown is a great place to see the fireworks in Epcot (Illuminations). This is also hit or miss as to whether you get an outside patio table. They have been inconsistent with whether they will accomodate seating requests or not. It may depend on who is running the floor on a given night.

For a more casual seating, I like one of the tables in the Cantina in Mexico. There is one right near what looks like an old boat that is washed up on shore. That is a speaker for the music. During busy times, we have seen those tables fill almost 2 hours before the show.

The fireworks at the Studios (Fantasmic), as stated, are a bit different. That is a show that is in an arena. You can bring in food, or buy popcorn and drinks from roving merchants.

This is JUST the kind of info I've been looking for--thanks so much :)

Can you see SPECTRO from these sites as well? I guess these places go fast on SPECTRO nights if so.

We were able to score a window seat table at 'Ohana, which is at the Polynesian resort. We watched the MK fireworks from our table- they dimmed the lights and piped in the music. It was magical. Check www.disneyworld.com for fireworks time- go to park hours and go to Magic Kingdom, and click for September. Then it will show the hours and then click shows and events and it will give fireworks times. Schedule your PS time 30-45 minutes before show time if you plan on eating at a restaurant that takes priority seating. I also tried this at Rose and Crown for Illuminations, and while I got the time I wanted, I was unable to get a patio seat. It's the luck of the draw I guess! Also, www.wdwig.com has menus for ALL of the restaurants at WDW, so you can get an idea of what you might like to eat, as well as the price. Plus it's a great site!

Thanks everyone for your advice, I just called the WDW DINE line and made PS reservations at O'Hana for 7:40pm, there is a 8:15pm fireworks show at the MK that night!

I even told the guy that it was our honeymoon and he added that to our reservation! I am SOOOO excited!:Pinkbounc Hope the food there is good!:o :p

I think the food at 'Ohana is awesome! You get all you can eat salad, bread, stir-fry veggies, honey-coriander flavored wings, wontons, fried rice, and grilled steak/turkey/shrimp/pork. Yum! Plus pineapple with caramel for dessert- we loved it!

I think Narcoosees at the GF is a great place to watch the fireworks and a romantic dinner spot for honeymooners! The Calif Grille at the Contemporary is great too. Ohanas is great too - very fun.

Hmmm could you do all three? If I could I would! Having a 3 year old makes me pine for a romantic dinner and fireworks viewing!

Have fun!! ;)

Oh, now I am second guessing my PS reservations at O'Hana...maybe we should go for someplace more romantic??

Can you see the MK fireworks from Narcoosees?

Does Narcoosees only serve Seafood, I just looked at the Menu on www.wdwinfo.com and all I saw was fish entrees?

You can definately see the fireworks from Narcoosees and the electrical water pagent too. I think it is one of the best spots at WDW to see these things.

Narcoosees does have a lot of seafood but they also have Filet Mingon, chicken, pork and pasta.

If you hate seafood then I don't know if you would want to go there as it is their specialty. I am sure the other items are good too - I have always found their food to be great.

The Calif Grill at the Contemporary is also something to consider - great fireworks viewing and romantic too. Very good food and a nice venue overall.

Don't rule out Ohana's it is fun but a bit more family oriented so maybe not as quiet and romantic. But hey it's WDW romance is everywhere right? ;)

Also, make sure that the fireworks are going to be done the night you have selected - they may not being going everynight then. Check with the hours and park schedule on WDW.com to be sure if you have not done so already! Have fun!!!! :)

Thanks again all for your help. I am going to switch our PS to Narcoosees for the evening of Sept 8th. The fireworks start at the MK at 8:15, so I am going to try for a 7:40 PS.

I just think that Narcoosees would make for a more romantic first night on our honeymoon!;)

OMG...will I EVER make up my mind??:o

One more question...which is more romantic...

Narcoosees or California Grill? Both have veiws of the MK fireworks, so either one would work for that.

I just want a really romantic place and wonder if any of you would choose one over the other.

BTW-We are mostly meat eaters (i.e. chicken and red meat), we never eat seafood!

EDITED TO ADD... I changed our PS reservation to the California Grill. Now let's see how long before I change my mind! ;)
