Hey, everyone!

This is the first place I turned to when my husband surprised me and said he'd take me to Disney World for my birthday on August 30th!! We'll be there all Labor Day Weekend, but do you have any advice on where we should go for dinner the evening of my birthday? I've never been in Disney World to celebrate a birthday. We are NOT bringing the CHILDREN....so we can take our time, are flexible about PS times, and can really enjoy ourselves!!!! I am so excited that it's almost all I can think about :)!

Where are you staying? If you are alone together, you may want to be close to your resort (ha ha). That said, last year we celebrated my birthday at the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. I got a free creme brulee for dessert, arranged in advance by my DH.

How about the California Grill? We had a great dinner there for my birthday 2 weeks ago, and you can't beat the view!!! Make sure you pick up your birthday button in City Hall, and have a great time:D

Rockin' Robin~we are staying at the BC. Never stayed there before, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Thanks for the suggestion about California Grill, Kteacher (I used to teach kindergarten too!). What is a good PS time if we'd like to watch the fireworks? We might consider that option for another night during the weekend since Spectro will be showing on my birthday, and I've never seen it. We'll be braving the crowds to watch it at the MK that night!

I'm still totally undecided about where to have an early dinner on my birthday:confused: . Any other suggestions?

It certainly depends on your favorite types of food:

If you like meat: I highly recommend The Yachtsman. This also meets the previous posts suggestion that you "might want to stay close to your resort". The food is excellent (we have eaten there at least once per trip and on average 4 trips per year for the last 11 years) I have never had a bad meal there - never. The service has been somewhat up & down - never bad - sometimes just "not as good as last time".

If you like seafood: And want to maintain the close to the resort thing- The Flying Fish is excellent. Good food and excellent service.

If you want the view and either meat or seafood: California Grill is my suggestion. They usually have a special seafood item on the menu (a Chef's Selection) and it is usually very good. And how could you beat that view?

Spoodles on the Boardwalk is an excellent choice. They have a filet on garlic mashed mashed potatoes with chipotle sauce - oh my goodness- I better stop, my mouth has just watered on my keyboard.
