Where should we eat CS Lunches

In Epcot I love Sunshine Seasons in Future World and Tangierine Cafe in Morocco.

I have only ate at two places in MK. Pecos Bill's is good for burgers. And Columbia Harbour House is a great place to get fish & chips or chicken fingers. Plus it has a second floor where you can overlook the walkways in MK.

DS I like Toy Story Pizza Planet and Backlot Express. Backlot Express serves general theme park food such as hot dogs, burgers, and chicken fingers.

I've only ate at Tusker House in AK, and that's no longer CS.

I posted this for another poster who cancelled their DDP, and was worried about eating all burgers and fries...

Here are some suggestions for out of the ordinary CS

Beaches and Cream - Go early or at an off peak meal time. They have great burgers, sandwiches and wonderful ice cream. On the DDP it is a TS, because it's a sit down restaurant, but the prices are very CS.

Sunshine Seasons - CS, but they have a nice Asian menu, salads, Rotisserie Chicken, and probably the only good CS desserts.

Tangeriene - Another CS, but their platters taste and 'feel' like a TS meal. The Schwarma platters are wonderful.

Cantina de San Angel - Another CS, but no burgers to be found here. The Chicken Taco was very good. I didn't care for the nachos here, well I hated them, but I do not like beans. I ordered without beans but they wouldn't special order for me here.

Pinocchio's Village Haus - Turkey Panini sandwich and Figaro Fries, a match made in heaven.

Cosmic Rays - We didn't have good luck here, but they have a rotisserie chicken and Ribs combo.

Pecos Bills - Yummy Chicken wrap sandwich

Columbia Harbor House - Fried Fish, Chicken Strips (now called nuggets because the strips are small, but they're the same meat as a traditional strip and also deep fried like a strip). They also have a wonderful sandwich and soup combo

Studios - Mostly burger fare. Though at MGM you aren't too far from Epcot, you could boat to Epcot for dinner and hop back to MGM after dinner (if you have hoppers)

Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree BBQ has a menu that looks like it's not typical burgers and fries.

Downtown Disney - Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express. WPE feels NOTHING like a CS other than you wait in line to order. When your food is ready they bring it to you and they bus your table for you when you're done. The menu is WONDERFUL and we never had a problem with the quality.

Just subscribing. I never think about planning CS but then when we get there I start looking around with this dazed look on my face when the kids and DH ask "what are we eating for lunch?" The worst is when we eat burgers (AGAIN!) and then I come home and read some great reviews on CS. We did really like Tusker House though.

I love Toy Story's Pizza Planet in HS! Fun for kids and the food is good and filling of course. :)

AK-Flame Tree BBQ
MK-Columbia Harb.House or bacon/cheese burger @ Pacos Bills
EPCOT-San Ang. Cant.
MGM or ?- Toy Stroy Pizza
:cool1: :hippie: :cool2: :flower3:

:rotfl: This thread just goes to show that everyone has different tastes. We ate at Toy Story Pizza Planet in October. Of the 6 of us who ate there who were old enough to voice an opinion, we all said that it was the worst pizza that we've ever had in our lives. My DS2, who normally eats everything, voiced his opinion by refusing to eat. Thank God we had the salads with the meal.

To me this brings up a good point, it's great to ask other's opinions on what's good and what's not good, but you'll never know for sure if you'll like something until you try it.

MK - Chicken wrap at Pecos Bills! It's fabulous and a good change from burgers and fries.

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons really fresh food, lots of variety and it's right next to Soarin' so you can hop over there right after you're done eating

MK - Columbia Harbor House Very good food. I've never had a tastier tuna sandwich. A nice change of pace from regular counter service

DTD - Earl of Sandwich I'm still dreaming of my Full Montague! YUM!

I agree with both of Tricia's posts. :thumbsup2 The only thing different I would add is that on our DHS day we eat lunch back at our resort. We take afternoon breaks and it makes for a nice change. Plus, we don't care for the food at that park.

You are not alone. We all agreed that Toy Story Pizza Planet was one of the worst CS meals we ever had. Even the kids wouldn't eat their pizza! My kids will beg to go back though for the arcade. Too each their own!

Also another thumbs up for Columbia Harbor House. Their Anchors Away tuna sandwich & soup combo is filling & very very tasty too.

Where should we eat CS lunches at EP, AK, HS, MK, and DTD

EPCOT: choices are endless - i could go there JUST to eat
:thumbsup2 !

MK: main street bakery has some excellent choices, and so does columbia harbor house.

AK: flame tree BBQ

HS: nothing every wow'ed us here...

:lmao: You know I still curse you for making me want to eat MORE on my MK day don't you? ;)
:rotfl: Just like I curse everyone else for making me want to eat at even MORE Epcot restaurants. I think I have 6 days at Epcot planned for my next trip, there's just too many places to eat there!

Call us creatures of habit or perhaps we found what we like and don't want to risk not liking something...here is where we typically will eat:

MK - #1 has to be Cosmic Rays for the amount of food ~ The 1/2rib, 1/2 chicken is normally a split meal with leftovers. #2 would be Pecos Bills for us

AK - #1 definitely Flame Tree Cafe, ribs are nummy! (BBQ ribs theme perhaps?) #2 never tried anything else...kids love #1

HS (still call it MGM) - #1 TOY STORY PIZZA PLANET!!! #2 Never ventured elsewhere...Why mess up a good thing?

EP - Probably the most difficult place in spite of having the most extensive choices with endless possibilites. :confused3 #1 Liberty Inn - probably because of the failiarity #2 We are going to try this time around to do the Cantina in Mexico...we've been slowly introcuding taco night at home in preparation

DTD - Never ate there, even with the DDP. Didn't want to waste time away from the parks. :goodvibes

I don't know that I really have any new suggestions from what others have said - here's where we usually go:

MK - Columbia Harbour House (this is THE must-do CS for my DH on every trip!) - we used to love Pinnochio's also, but they've tinkered with the menu and we've skipped it the last couple of trips. I also like have a nice hot dog at Casey's late at night!

DHS - our toughest park for eating too - we thought Pizza Planet was OK and we typically end up at Backlot Express. I don't love the Commissary, but we have had breakfast there before.

AK - we always eat at Pizzafari for some reason, although I've always wanted to try Flame Tree BBQ. We also really like Rainforest Cafe too (though it isn't on the DDP).

EPCOT - Cantina de San Angel in Mexico - LOVE this place! Sunshine Seasons was just OK for us - a lot of diverse food but not great for picky eaters! American Adventure (whatever the CS place is called) is a good standby for the finicky ones in our group

I will tell you the two places I will never eat again - Restaurantosaurus in AK and Electric Umbrella in EPCOT. Those have been our 2 worst dining experiences at Disney!

The only place we really eat many CS meals is at the MK, because we eat a lot of CS at our resort, but for MK we like- Pecos Bill's, Cosmic Ray's, Columbia Harbor House. Also Earl of Sandwich at DTD :goodvibes

MK - definitely Cosmic Rays Starlight cafe' for the food AND the entertainment -you've got to enjoy Sonny Eclipse!
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons for the Sushi
AK - only went to boring McD's since that's what the kids wanted!

AK...Definitely Flame Tree :thumbsup2
Epcot...America in the WS has really good burgers
DHS...Rosie's (by the Tower of Terror) has good burgers and great chicken strips. Studio Catering Co. (by Lights, Motors, Action) has great chicken wraps.
We have never eaten counter service at MK...We always go to the Plaza when we want a less expensive option. Sandwiches are decently priced, it's air-conditioned, and it has the best milkshakes in the World!

For MK, I'd definitely vote for Columbia Harbor House as well. They have a great ham sandwich, many people like the tuna sandwich, and they have fish as well. The upstairs seating area is wonderful because it's typically less crowded and provides a nice, quiet break from the busy-ness of the MK.

For Epcot, I vote for Kringla Bakery in Norway, hands down. :worship: We've eaten there for lunch everytime we've been to Epcot; they have a small but nice shaded seating area directly outside the place. They have soup and 3 open-faced sandwiches you can choose from (salmon, ham, and I believe turkey). I always get the ham. But best of all, they have tons of the most amazing desserts there. Try the school bread for sure, and the lefske if you're looking for something a bit different. I :lovestruc that place and am counting the days until I get back there!
