We are having a very small off-site wedding for my DD but staying at WL and having dinner afterward at O'Hana. DD wants a small cake to have at dinner but when she called the restaurant they said they can only make a one layer 10 inch round cake. Is there somewhere that we can get a small 2-tier nice wedding cake? Does Boardwalk Bakery do that? Will the bakery at the GF make one?:confused3

We had an awesome cake at the Boardwalk Bakery (see below). I'm not sure if they do 2-tiers but I'm sure someone will come along and answer that question.

I have heard Publix makes amazing wedding cakes, so you could definitley go there!!

I'm using Heather from It's Tasty Too! Her cakes are simply amazing made from scratch. She's very affordable and was just voted on the Knot as one of the top 5 bakers in Orlando. I'm sure delivering the cake to were you are staying or having dinner wouldn't be problem with her, but do double check. Hope this helps!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

We are using Priscilla from Orlando custom cakes. Our cake was supposed to be one tier but we have upgraded to 2. She has been great to deal with so far.

I have also heard that Publix make great cakes.

I vote for publix! My cousin had a small church wedding here in Miami after her destination wedding in Punta Cana. She had publix make her 2 tier wedding cake with butter cream outside and strawberry filling inside. It was DELICIOUS! They use different cake for their wedding cakes than their normal cake, it's so good and not too expensive. My cousin's cake was I think $100.

I had a cake done by Mikkel! I was doing a surprise grooms cake for my DH at our rehearsal dinner and I wanted a very specific design that my DH loves so I contacted Mikkel and it came out amazing. It was vanilla with a white chocolate filling and it was soooo yummmmy!!!

This picture does not do it justice but here you go

Our rehersal Dinner was at Ohana and they even set up a little table for our cake and brought us a HUGE knife for serving. Since we were heading out on the cruise the next day we had to leave that yummy cake...but the Cast Members all dug in and enjoyed it!

I also had a cake from Mikkel Last May for DD 4th birthday and it was Amazing!! I have also contacted her for a cake in a few weeks for my DS and I can't wait to see and taste it.. They are DELISH

Here is my daughters birthday cake...

I believe the GF Bakery will only do a special order cake if you are eating/staying on-site, tho I think I read somewhere that they will deliver to WDW resorts for a steep fee (but not to other restaurants). My DH and I had a small wedding at Shades of Green, and then had a "reception" (aka breakfast with my DH and two boys) at the GF Cafe. I ordered a two-layer special wedding cake for us, that turned out beautiful. You can see it on my link. It was $160. Boardwalk bakery does some beautiful cakes too, that you can pick up.

I've read in the past that Ohanas will let you bring a cake, but they won't hold or refrigerate it for you because of health codes. Good luck!

If you want to do the cake through Disney and have it at Ohana, you can try calling Private Dining at the Contemporary and asking to talk to the pastry chef about a custom cake. In the past few months, people have been getting custom cakes made by the CR delivered to the "local" Deluxe resorts (Poly, WL) and even Cinderella's Royal Table by the Contemporary Bakery at no additional charge.

However, I think the options presented in this thread are probably going to taste better than the Disney cakes and be a lot cheaper. :thumbsup2

My boyfriend's friend is getting married 3/4/11 and I think I'm making an xBox groom's cake for them! Coincidence. :-)

And btw...
:lovestruc love you girls.
