DD 19 and I want to eat a nice dinner at the Magic Kingdom... we've done the Liberty Tree to death, don't like buffets so no Crystal Palace, Tony's gets constantly slammed for it's food, and now Cindy's has upped it's price and decreased its choices!!! :confused3

Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

We love the Plaza Restaurant, it's a nice break from the busy park. The food is good, and the service is excellent.

I second the Plaza as a choice. Great light dinner and wonderful ice cream desserts.

I think Plaza is a good choice, too, but another option is the monorail to Kona Cafe or Grabd Floridian Cafe.

I sometimes wonder if "nice dinner" and "Magic Kingdom" aren't mutually exclusive.
I agree-the monorail to other restaurants seems the right move .

What he said!

I also agree that to get a really good meal you must leave the MK. I also vote for Kona Cafe at the Poly. Really great food and service.

we ate TTS despite all the bad reviews and really like it. Both me and my son had the salmon, I forget the appetizer and for dessert we had the creme brulee, service was great, food was good and we left with full belllys and we along to our trick or treating and had fun :earsboy: :earsgirl:

While the Plaza is nice, the only dinner you can get there is sandwiches. If you're reluctant to try Tony's, then take the monorail over to the GF, Poly or Contemporary. Maybe even the boat over to Wilderness Lodge for Whispering Canyon or Artist Point.

All the times I've been to MK and I don't know of the Plaza, where is it? What's it like? We don't care for LTT. Have done CP many times. Cosmic RAys was a bit strange with the whole ordering thing with the different lines.

Thanks
Del

The Plaza is just around the corner from the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor. Here is a link to the menu http://allearsnet.com/menu/menu_pr.htm. Dixiedizfan is right though, it is mostly sandwiches and one salad. We have eaten there for lunch and it was a nice variation from CS. I agree with the other posters about taking the monorail to one of the resorts and having dinner. Have you tried 'Ohana? This is one of our favorites :teeth:

Hop on the monorail to Narcoosees at the Grand Floridian. The food is delicious- seafood but also steaks, pastas AND the view is the best.It is on the water and you see the MK -the Castle and most importantly, the fireworks and the electric pageant. They pipe the music in so you feel as if you were actually at the MK. Highly recommended!

I have eaten at Tony's a few times and each time the food has been excellent and the service also really good. I love Itallian food and am picky about my pizza and pasta and Tpny's did not disappoint me. I've eaten at the Plaza once and was not too impressed. The meal wasn't bad just mediocre and the service was bad the day that we ate there.

I agree with the Plaza. DH & I loved it on our past trip a few weeks ago. We had an unplanned lunch there, and it was great. If you do decide to leave the parks, as someone else mentioned Kona Cafe is great too. When DH & I looked at the menu we were a little unsure, but that dinner was the best meal we had our entire vacation.

another option would be to hit LTT for lunch (much more variety) and then grab a hotdog at casey's for dinner...

I agree with hitting the monorail to one of the resorts. Kona is one of our favorites in the moderate price range if you want to stay away from signature dining.

The Plaza was ok, the price is right, but as I always say about it, we haven't rushed back and we went a year and a half ago. You'll get something much better if you leave the park.

The Plaza is nice, but it's more lunchtime fare, and perhaps it's just our bad luck, but we've been more than once and the service is always so slow.

I agree with whomever suggested Kona Cafe at the Poly! Narcoossee's also is a great place, but a tad pricey. Good luck!

Another vote for hopping on a monorail.

We loved Kona Cafe and were thrilled that we dedided to leave the park that day for lunch :) Plus it gave us a break from park touring and we got to see the Polynesian :sunny:
